I saw 2 shooting starts from the persied meteor shower last night ight. The first one was a pretty pink that travelled slowly down towards the coast just as I was taking the dog for a walk. Thinking this would be a great night I then sat for 45 mins only to see one quick white steak. Still happy. Hopefully more tonight 💫

This week is a good time to see the Perseid meteor shower.
This occurs every year at the end of July/beginning of August. Over the next few days the moon is hardly visible so the sky is dark. This allows more opportunity to see the shooting starts from the Perseid meteor shower.
The terrace of Casa Amanda is an ideal place to view this astronomical phenomenon. Turn off the lights, rest on the sun loungers, grab a drink or two and allow your eyes to become dark adjusted then wait for the cosmos to delight you 💫

Enjoy stargazing?
Tenerife is one of the best places in the world to see the cosmos, due to the dark skies and lack of light pollution.
At Casa Amanda you have a private, secluded and dark terrace that is perfect to view the Milky Way, constellations and the many meteor showers that occur every year.
If you want an extra special excursion we recommend ‘Teide by night’. This is the only tour that has a restaurant in the Teide caldera, as well as knowledgeable guides and telescopes.

Our kitchen is well equipped with many modern appliances, including a dishwasher, alongside the usual general kitchen ware allowing you to cook if you should wish.
On the terrace you also have a washing machine and washing lines (eco friendly) so you can travel light.

There is a private entrance, one flight of stairs leading to the hallway and second lockable door. The apartment interior is approximately 70 square metres and the terrace is approximately, an additional, 40 square meters.

We are happy to announce that Casa Amanda is now available as a holiday rental. A large 1 bedroom apartment located in the rural south of Tenerife, Tamaide, San Miguel.
It comprises of a large lounge area, with a TV system giving access to most U.K. channels, free WiFi, an American kitchen with fridge freezer, dish washer, microwave, oven, hob and kitchen ware.
There is a large bedroom, dressing room and bathroom all of which are recently refurbished.
Additionally you have a large, private terrace with a washing machine, barbecue, table and chairs and sun loungers.
Within a 3 minute walk you will find the bus stop that takes you to the busy holiday resort of Los Cristianos or 10 minutes there’s a stop to El Medeno, where you can enjoy a more typical Spanish town, beautiful fish restaurants and water sports. (Famous for wind surfing and kite boarding). You are also within a 10 minute walk of San Miguel pueblo, where you will find many bars, restaurants and shops, including a pharmacy and post office.
The accommodation is perfect for those who like to hike, bike or just relax.
Your host is just downstairs if you need any assistance.
Sorry, this accommodation is not suitable for people who can not manage stairs.
