What a week of pure inspiration.
We put heart & soul into our first WRITERS RETREAT with @joannabquinn and @emmanuelcoe

And worked with local chefs to spoil our guests palettes as well as their literary curiosities

We’ve been soaring into the power of words.
It’s not over yet (we have one final day) but before this officially ends, we wanted to share a little about our first ever #writersretreat because it will be the first of many.
We chose the fabulous @lafructuosagaucin as the main venue. It has everything we needed; great rooms, delicious views, far reaching views and the kindest hosts. It was a correct decision.
Its location, nestled into the old village of Gaucín has inspired and cocooned us as @joannabquinn has led us on an adventure with words. We have studied character, place and setting, dialogue, trauma and much more. It has all been handled with grace and sensitivity and we have looked on as our 8 aspiring writers have gained confidence and clarity. Their voices are different now; more defined, richer, stronger.
What a week of words. @emmanuelcoe have given two workshops. One on the theory of Duende and the work of Lorca which set the scene for our Andalucian dream. The other on writing memoir and dealing with trauma in our written work, sharing excerpts from his upcoming book.
Last night we celebrated a “tertulia” - a Literary Salon - where @mistycoysnyder serenaded us with some of her (and our) favourite songs.
Ten souls have come together this week with truth and honesty and we are all the richer for it. We have been in our own precious, temporary, unique bubble but we hope that this week, all 8 of our guests have found the confidence and acquired the necessary tools to stride into their writing careers. We can’t wait for the next chapters of their writing journeys.

DORSET WRITERS RETREAT

Dorset is an inspirational setting for writers.
4 days to get away from it all at the fabulous Mangerton House near Bridport.
Two bestselling authors will share their insights of the creative process and encourage you in your craft.
Open to writers of all levels. We will be running daily workshop sessions to explore different elements of writing, to take your creativity in new directions.
Mangerton is a world of its own - set in 17 acres of re-wilding Dorset landscapes and there will be plenty of downtime to enjoy walks in the wildflower meadows, woodland paths and the rich bird and animal life that enjoy the estate.
Places are limited to 12 participants with a variety of room options and prices to suit every budget.

This year we are super excited about our three CAMINOS FOR #poshpilgrims. We ve been running pilgrimage experiences along the #caminomozarabe for nine years now with @yogadeva_erin ❤️ 🧘 combining the #caminodesantiago with beautiful boutique hotels, cultural immersion, glorious food, bus support and two walking guides for those pilgrims who want to “walk he walk” with with a little pampering included. Out Camino tours have been called “the most amazing travel experience of my life” and “designed with military precision but with the sensitivity of a pure creative and obvious soul lover of Spain.”
Without blowing our own 🎺 we tend to agree. 8 nights combining walking an ancient pilgrim’s path, boutique hotels, yoga and meditation, great food and wine, side trips, guided tours, cities, white villages, expert walking guides. What could possibly go wrong? These are truly immersive and transformation trips. Testimony to that is that many of our pilgrims come back for more!

There is so much hatred and confusion in the world right now that walking seems the best armour to defend ourselves from the negativity and find creative ways to be sources of light within the world to end the suffering of many for the benefit of few.
Walking is our best way forward. It equips us in a myriad of ways. The motion is always forward and we cannot wait to walk! ❤️ 🚶 🚶♂️
