After 18 years of owning this beautiful ground floor apartment which faces directly on to the pool and is within literally 5 minutes walk of the Punta Marina Commercial Centre and 10 minutes cycling time of Zenia Boulevard we have decided to sell up and move on. The video was taken Friday 22nd November 2024 as we prepared to tidy up and fly home the next day. The pool is open all year round 9am to 9pm and the community is well known not only for being very green with lots of lawns and trees but also for being a friendly community with English, Irish, Russian, Spanish, Polish, French, Belgian, Dutch, Swedish owners. Although ground floor there are a few steps up to the front door as the apartment is elevated to enjoy the pool views. If you are interested in buying the price is 189,000 euros.

It's a very good job that I have a freezer filled with ice creams, a fridge full of beer and wines. Which together with a pool on my doorstep and the mediterranean sea just a short walk away makes life just about bearable in this heat. The Gurney clan will have to hurry up and get here otherwise we will have used up this month's quota of sunshine before they get here.

Today would have been my Dad's 94th Birthday if he was still with us. Here's a picture of him doing his National Service, in which he served as a PTI (physical training instructor) with the exalted rank of Corporal. He flew in Lancaster Bombers (as a passenger going home on leave) and was also a member of the gymnastic display team. Note how you can see the ribs of those not wearing singlets. Fit as a butchers dog! For those of you needing glasses to read the names at the bottom, my dad is third from the right on the middle row.
He might no longer be with us, but he's still in our thoughts.

A little bit of history for you. A real stealth tax indeed. We'd all be enjoying better pensions if Labour Chancellor didn't knock a nail into the coffin of Final Salary pensions. It also meant that all workers with personal pensions ended up with smaller funds than they might have done.
Let's wait and see what Keir Starmer has lined up for us.
