We are in day 36 of the national lockdown in Spain. We have been busy in the garden and staying fit riding the bike trainer. It was nice to see the challenge, a fun way to support my favorite outdoor shop in the world, The Mountain Hideaway. I look forward to the day when travel is opened back up and I can return to my other home in Lubbock. See y'all soon!

This weekend is the beer and Francesinha festival. Local beers and regional sandwiches are quite good and a welcome break.

Francesinha is a Portuguese sandwich originally from Porto, made with bread, wet-cured ham, linguiça, fresh sausage like chipolata, steak or roast meat and covered with melted cheese and a hot thick tomato and beer sauce served with french fries.

FESTIVAL DA CERVEJA ARTESANAL E DA FRANCESINHA

Com organização da Junta de Freguesia de Podame, realiza-se no próximo fim de semana, 28, 29 e 30 de julho, no polidesportivo da freguesia. Terceira edição com a presença de dezena e meia de marcas conhecidas e vários espaços para venda de francesinhas e fumeiro tradicional.

Certame apresenta a “Gudalho”, de Riba de Mouro, primeira marca de cerveja artesanal do concelho. Disponíveis 15 mil litros de cerveja, o dobro da última edição. A DJ Isabel Figueira anima a festa na noite de sábado, a partir das 02h00.
