Els and Pim recently visited our sunny city together with their lovely young teenage girls! 🚲

¨What a fantastic experience!
The bike tour in Valencia with June from Get Involved was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip. June took plenty of time for everyone in the group and created a warm, personal atmosphere from the very first moment.

Her knowledge of the city, the culture and the hidden gems made this tour not only informative, but also incredibly inspiring. Thanks to her enthusiastic stories and countless tips about fun activities and delicious restaurants, we got to know Valencia in a very special way.

When you come to Valencia, there will be a 99% chance that you will see beautiful dressed up people passing by in the streets.

These ladies in traditional dresses and hairstyles are the main characters, especially during the Fallas festival. Each Fallas association has 1 Fallera Mayor (from 15 years old) and 1 Fallera Mayor infantil (younger than 14 years old). They represent the association and have various important tasks. They are assisted by other falleras, the corte de honor (ladies of the court).

The dresses are mainly made of silk and are purely handmade. It is not without reason that these dresses cost several thousand euros each!

The preparations for Easter (Semana Santa) are already clearly present. Processions, beautiful dresses and music. Come to Valencia, the most popular city under the sun! ☀️

This wonderful family booked a bike tour with us as well as a ceramics class!

From the first moment it was clear how sweet, fun and certainly hilarious this couple would be. 🤪

We cycled at a relaxed pace through the history of Valencia, had lunch together in the sun with tasty snacks and drinks and got to know each other.

The next day the men went to the famous Mestalla stadium to attend a football match, while the ladies followed a private ceramics class with great enthusiasm and great concentration!

The remaining days we sometimes bumped into them in our cozy 'village' and as we speak... this wonderful family is still enjoying the sun, culture and each other. Dear Hubers family... you are amazing. Definitely come back to Valencia, we enjoyed your company a lót! 💕

Some free tips from June! 🎉

¨… Today some small tips! Of course you´ve read about our central market… the biggest market with fresh products all over Europe.
The Mercado Central is a market in het middle of the old center. Dated from the early 20th century the market is the place to be for locals, tourists and all those who love a mix of fresh food, colors, scents and friendly people. You can buy tons of fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses, ham and very good oil to put on a little piece of bread.
Pssst; my tip for a very tasteful oil; La Grima!

Or try some seafood… in the market one can already buy one oyster, a sea urchin or a gamba… freshly prepared in front of you. But, outside the Market you can find several small restaurants, like our favourite; Trocito del Medio… where they can prepare your food which you just bought at the market. I think that is an amazing concept, right?!

Do like I did…buy a little paperbag with some ham or cheese and drink Valencian Vermouth for only 2,50 the glass.

Hey… want another tip for good Vermouth and good wines? I know one in the city center… which sells wine and many other liquid gifts of the Gods and it has been doing so since 1870!

But, there are many more small places to go to!

Only a couple hours to go and ´la Crema´starts… Today is the day when all Falla (a monument made up of Ninots) are burned. One can find around 800 Falla throughout the city! 🔥

Fallas´origins started with Valencia´s carpenters burning old materials on the eve of Saint Joseph´s day and symbolises renewal.

This evening at 8.00 pm the children´s Falla are burned, followed by the larger ones, end by the one in on the Town Hall square. Only 2 small pieces of Ninots will remain and can be seen in the Fallas Museum…

Our congratulations of the winner of this year: Convento Jerusalem- Matematico Marzal! A Falla about gold in various ways… and worth 250.000 euro! 🏆

Todays schedule:

11 am. Offering of flowers to Sant Josep (Sant Josep bridge)
12 am. Mass tribute to San Josep (Cathedral)
2 pm. Mascleta (Town Hall square)
7 pm. Fire Parade (from Rusafa and Colon to Puerta de la Mar)
8 pm. start of la crema of the children´s Falla
10 pm. start of la crema of all falla.
10.30 pm la crema of nr 1 falla
11 pm la crema of the town hall falla.

Yesterday and today will be the floral offering to the Virgen de los Desamparados between 3:30 pm and midnight. The ‘Ofrenda’… an important event in the life of any "fallero" or "fallera" (participants in the traditional celebration of Fallas) 🌸

At the end of the two days, the mantle displays a harmonious tapestry of colorful flowers. All participating committees come from their areas and march through Calle de San Vicente and Calle de la Paz until they reach the Plaza de la Virgen.Upon entering the square, few can resist being moved to tears.

Last Sunday Rene booked a private tour. Rene stayed in one of our cozy holiday apartments in the city center. Because the weather forecast was not very promising… Rene was very kind and willling to switch to a group tour to give other people the chance to join. 🧡

Marloes, who also stayed in one of our holiday apartments, was more than happy to join.. as well as Ilja, who arrived that same morning.

We didn’t see any rain at all… only at the end of our tour it started to drizzle a bit. Holidaymakers… if you have any doubts about the weather conditions, if you have any questions or doubts… don’t hesitate to contact us. We try to adapt to the circumstances and your personal wishes!

Fantastic bike tour along beautiful places in Valencia. June is a really nice guide who wants to give you the best experience and really takes the time for it. Good bikes too. Nice and easy whatsapp contact in advance, in which she gave a lot of tips. From fun things to do but also nice restaurants and other nice addresses. Highly recommended! June, thanks for the nice photos, the delicious treat you bought us and the fact that we could leave an hour earlier becausse of expected rain.

🍊Lovely couple Nick and Nina visited Valencia last week. They had booked a wonderful apartment with a small swimming pool close to the beach.

Not many words are needed; together with them and the smart Raf, funny little rascal Nout and cute Nora we went on a family bike tour!

We offered them a bike with a child seat plus a comfortable Cargo Bike… suitable for 2 small children. From the first moment on it was fun with these guys. Nick and Nina could enjoy their ride without worrying about the little ones. And of course the cargo bike was a succes for all 3 of them.

These very sweet children clearly enjoyed their ride out. We told them about the Valencian emblem, a very little smart bat who helped King Jaume the first in the year 1238 to conquer the enemy by beating the drums. Wasn´t that a smart thing to do… the little bat saved the city of Valencia!

And… they heard about the crocodile who sometimes can be heard in the cellars of the central market… sometimes, not always! So you kids must be lucky to hear the crocodile… 🐊

At the places where we stopped, Raf, Nout and Nora could run around and let the energy flow.

Mom and dad brought them cookies, healty pieces of apple and we had a drink on a child friendly terrace. We had our cappuccinos while the 3 footballed with oranges they found on the ground, played with water at the fountain and ran around with Spanish kids!

👉🏾 Nick, Nina, Raf, Nout and Nora… you are a very loveable family. Your children were also great company to take on a bike tour.

A fantastic bike tour with June through Valencia where she took into account what we like to see and hear. It went in a very relaxed way and she was very flexible, for example we indicated that we wanted coffee and we stopped at a nice place. The duration of the tour was also not strictly observed so the time for drinking coffee did not come at the expense of the tour time because she just extended the duration. Not only did the fun tour allow us to get to know Valencia in a playful way, but also the great tips she gave us afterwards about sights, events and delicious restaurants and bars!

If you like personal, tailor-made and small groups, we can highly recommend June/ Get Involved Valencia!!

June is a relaxed guide. She showed us the beautiful things in Valencia in a nice, relaxed way.

We often got off and then we got an explanation of what we saw and we could go in somewhere or walk around for a while.
The tour is personal and the guide flexible. We saw both the old city and the new part.
This is really recommended.
We rode on excellent bikes with 7 gears, which was easy to do.
The website already makes you enthusiastic and it certainly delivers what is promised there. I would do the tour at the beginning of your stay, because you get so many great tips.....
And the "aftercare" is also very good in case you forgot something.

A fun and informative tour. Robert was a fun and friendly guide, the weather was fantastic!

June was not in Valencia at the time, but responded immediately via whats app, so that we could book a tour that same morning, but then under the guidance of Robert. Afterwards June sent us many tips about nice restaurants and ideas for the remaining days! Definitely recommended and nice bikes.

We were so lucky to find this place in Valencia, for a first time visit. The apartment is perfectly located in old town, and close to virtually everything. We were able to walk virtually everywhere. The apartment itself is large and comfortable, and reasonably well equipped for a week-long stay. But the hidden gems were our hosts June and Guilhem.

June was a wealth of information about what to see and do, and even provided hikes for us around our next stop in Calpe. We were also delighted with the 2 hour walking tour with Guilhem, that gave us a great overview of the city. We could not have been happier with our visit!

Recently, the ladies of Dutch hockeyteam hdsdames1 contacted us to organize their annual team outing. Yesterday, 11 ladies arrived in sunny Valencia and immediately jumped on their bikes under guidance of enthusiastic guide Robert! 🚲

Together they explored the historical center, the famous green Turia Park and of course these enthusiasts climbed ¨Valencia¨… in the City of Arts and Sciences!

As they say; pictures speak more than words… despite the short night, these beautiful ladies went for it and enjoyed their first rays of sunshine after a long time! 🌞

The program is far from over… this evening we will see the ladies again at our Tapastour in which they will discover culinary Valencia. And… last but not least, they will end their getaway with a creative morning which we will organize especially for them where they will even create their own Valencian team souvenir!
