The Benetússer sewer absorbs the rain: "It's good news".
"In the early hours of the night, with the first heavy rains, we had some small reservoirs in specific areas, which the neighbors warned us about, but when the rain stopped, the sewer system did filter the water" , explained Márquez.
"Then, where there has been heavy rain, in specific areas, and it was not persistent, the sewers worked perfectly," he added.

Up to fourteen rescues related to the heavy rainfall in Baix Maestrat.
The firefighters of the Consorci de Castelló have, in the last few hours, rescued up to fourteen people who had been trapped by the cold water that hit the region yesterday. So far, the troops have carried out 93 services, although they have not yet finished all the pending interventions, as sources from the body admit.
Thus, firefighters are still working in Vinaròs, Benicarló, Pen*scola and Alcalà de Xivert. The cleaning sector is looking for 5,000 qualified workers.
The cleaning sector in Valencia has made an urgent appeal. It is looking for, for the immediate incorporation, at least 5,000 qualified workers to join the cleaning and sanitation tasks in the municipalities affected by the DANA.
The employers in the sector, Apelva and Afelin, have stressed "the need to have specialized and experienced personnel to carry out in-depth cleaning tasks in a safe, effective and professional manner".
In this context, the president of Afelin, Jesús Martín, has warned that "the cleaning of the affected municipalities becomes not only a fundamental task to recover normality, but also a necessary measure to safeguard public health, prevent risks of diseases and restore economic and social well-being".
