Our trip to suba Menagesha Park has been a blast ,the air, that peaceful silence as you leave the city, the sounds of the wind brushing the trees and birds chirping all around gave us an exhilarating experience. as it is our duty to serve our community we set out on this trip to donate reference books to the students of Gebre Gora Elementary School aside from enjoying the hike. But as we got there and visited the classes we were surprised by the lack of learning materials. The wall's of the classes were damaged, there were limited seats per classes only enough to sit around 10-15 students in a class that takes 30--40 students, the black boards had molds that made it hard to write and many other issues. we set on a goal to at least bring learning utensils the next time we return and continued our journey to the Highest Peak (Damocha Peak 3,385 m.a.s.l). As we reached the peak, the air was heavy and cold, but was nothing compared to the breath taking view. It definitely was worth the hike. afterwards we took our leave and hike'd back to the camp site to have some lunch and headed home
As we have promised we had a second trip to suba, but this time to give the gift's we promised to the school, we collected around 1020 exercise books, 150 pencils and 550 pen's and more reference books. as we headed there we saw that the community was helping with some repairs for the classes, there were more seats for the students as well as the walls were better than before. we gave our gifts to some of the students that came and gave the rest to the school so that they could properly distribute them to the students. Finally we ask that anyone willing to pass by there to help out with anything in your grasp so that this kids will have a better learning experience, and for all those who helped with your gifts we deeply thank you🙏

Debre Libanos Founded in 1284 by the legendary Ethiopian saint Abuna Tekle Haimanot, Debre Libanos monastery played an important part in spreading Christianity in central Ethiopia. The church and its surrounds witnessed many historic events, including arrival of the first Portuguese mission to Ethiopia in 1520, resistance of the Ethiopian patriots during the Italian invasion of 1936 – 1941, and much more.

The “Portuguese Bridge” bridge, was not as it’s name suggests built by the Portuguese but was in fact built in the 19th century by an Ethiopian, called Ras Dargein. It as built in the style of the 17th century bridges around the Nile. The view in this area is simply breathtaking, with a waterfall and a deep gorge leading down to the Jemma River valley. It is also a habitat of several rare birds (lammergeyer, Abyssinian ground hornbill, endemic banded barbet, Abyssinian woodpecker and much more) and endemic Gelada baboons.

The Hasset Hiking group was at Debre Libanos, we hiked the beautiful landscapes of Debrelibanos, hanged out with the locals and enjoyed the breathtakingly beautiful waterfall. We are glad to donate all our profits to the Addis Ababa Science and Technology Covid Center for buying books. We would like to thank the hikers for coming and being part of this amazing journey

ህፃናት በመማሪያ ቁሳቁስ እጦት ምክንያት ከትምህርት ገበታቸው መቅረት የለባቸውም ስለዚህ ካለን ላይ ለሌሎች እናካፍል ለሌሎች ያልተረፈ ሂወት አይኑረን!!

ጤና ይስጥልኝ በኢትዮጲያ ሊታዩ ከሚገቡ ቦታዎች አንዱ ወደ ሆነው የሚኒልክ መስኮት የHasset Hiking አባላት በመጓዝ አንድም የቦታውን ታሪክ እና ውበት ለማወቅ ና ለማድነቅ ሁለትም በሚዛን ተፈሪ ና ሙካጡሪ ላሉ ታናናሽ እህት እና ወንድሞቻችን የደብተር ድጋፍ ለማሰባሰብ ሲሆን በእለቱ ከተጓዙ አባላት እንዲሁም ከቅርብ ጓደኞቻችን ባገኘነው ድጋፍ 70 ደርዘን የመማሪያ ደብተሮች በመግዛት ይህን መልካም ስራ ደከመን ሳይሉ እያስተባበሩ ላሉት አስረክበናል።
