Surrounded by 500 acres of farmland, Burlton Cottages sleep 2-14 guests across 4 award-winning Shropshire cottages. Slip into the indoor heated swimming pool, soothe your muscles in the hot tub, or spoil yourself with a treatment in the specialist spa. The local pub is just a short stroll away. Discover Shrewsbury, with its vibrant mix of cafés, restaurants, independent shops and festivals. National Trust members are spoilt for choice as there are 10 properties within easy reach, amongst the many other attractions in rural Shropshire. Dogs are very welcome in three cottages (they even get a fabulous doggy hamper!).

Senior Writer Jonathon Engels, reporting from Bristol, TN/VA:

Virginia and Tennessee both have phenomenal caves and caverns, so it’s no wonder that Bristol, the town with toes in both states, has an amazing cavern of its own.

Bristol Caverns is about 15 minutes southeast of Downtown Bristol, not far from the South Holston Lake Dam (which was unfortunately closed during our visit). Luckily, Bristol Caverns were more than worth the drive out.

Formed by the Underground River somewhere between 200 and 400 million years ago, the Bristol Caverns now have paved and lighted walkways through several chambers.

They're all riddled with stalactites, stalagmites, columns, arches, and other rock formations. But for me, the creek that runs into and out of the cave was the most amazing feature. The water was flowing well and was extraordinarily picturesque.

The privately owned cave offers tours daily all year-round, from 9AM to
5PM from March to October, and from 10AM to 4PM from November to March. Tours leave every 20-30 minutes and last about an hour.
