A staggering 50,000 participants took to the streets of Addis Ababa, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Lucy's discovery and creating unforgettable memories.

Addis Ababa’s streets will come alive this Sunday with the Great Ethiopian Run International 2024! 🏃

50,000 participants are set to join the 10km race, marking the 50th Anniversary of Lucy’s discovery. The race shirts and medals are also inspired by Lucy, celebrating Ethiopia as the Land of Origins.

At a press briefing held today by the Great Ethiopian Run, H.E. Mrs. Selamawit Kassa, Tourism Minister, emphasized that this year's race provides a special opportunity to showcase Ethiopia as the Land of Origins and a nation renowned for its legendary athletes.

The race will feature special guests, including Kenyan marathon world record holder Ruth Chepngetich, legendary Irish athlete Eamonn Coghlan, and elite runners from different countries.
