Visit Polaris Mekelle city, Mekelle is the capital of Tigrai. It was one of the most important economic and education centres before the war erupted in Tigrai in November 2020 Tigrayan forces and Ethiopia's central government signed a peace deal on Nov. 2 in South Africa, Howover there are still millions of IDPs in Mekelle City I hope everything will be fine as soon as possible.

Happy Ashenda festival to all Tegaru!
Tigrai is rich in culture, and Ashend is one of the unique religious festivals in Tigrai that celebrate every 22 August by the Tigrian maids/young women, Ashenda means long grass the young women wear a traditional dress, makeup, and jewellery on their neck and ears and hair such as Tlfi, Zargol, Zbto and Alwaso.

Tigrai women are queens from the Ashenda festival day for one week no one controls them they can spend the day and night everywhere and they are off from any work and can not listen to anyone because Ashenda is a special day for them.

The women travel from house to house to visit people accompanied by traditional songs, dance and drumming, The women are enough smart and they have many good songs to describe the family or the house to get a gift when visiting them and people give them what they have when they don't give them any gift they have dirty songs to describe the family If they don't have any gift they ask to dance,Also dance is a gift for them.
