With the Qt Design Studio video series, we established a clear hierarchy, with four types of design elements to keep the visual language sharp. The Design Studio windows, simple shapes with bright circles that represent designs, magenta outlines to highlight current tasks and icons from the Design Studio app to indicate key functionalities. The colors also have clearly defined purpose: blue for design, yellow for code, and grey for inactivity. We used dark windows and light designs to create contrast, living bold gradients represent dynamism and active elements emit light in the dark.
Creating the videos for Qt Design Studio with their bold design, separate from the traditional Qt-brand look & feel was a very cool challenge. We feel result is awesome, and most importantly: so does our client.

Qt Group presented MacWell with a wonderful challenge – to create a series of videos with a distinct visual identity that reflected the unique features of their Qt Design Studio software. First, we learned everything about Qt Design Studio, which helps turn your designs into functional code that works on any platform or device. It bridges the gap between designers and coders. Together with the client we defined six key functionalities to showcase as six different videos.

To complement the product videos, we created three technical videos. Here the floor is given to Wirepas employees, who expand on Mom’s radical simplifications in technical detail. No matter how skilled the narrator is, IoT remains a complex topic. To make the technical videos more understandable we created beautiful infographic animations and sound design that illustrate the technological concepts.
“Straight outta summer cottage” continued the story of Wirepas and Mom. The challenge was explaining IoT to ordinary people, without losing the humor and style established in previous videos. The challenge was accepted, and successfully met. We’re super proud of what we’ve created, and can’t wait to see more of Mom!
Wirepas approached MacWell to help launch their new product, Wirepas 5G Mesh. Our brief was to explain the product and its benefits through their iconic character, “Mom”.
Mom has previously spent her harsh winters in Tampere Finland with her boys. But come summer, Mom heads out to her traditional “Mökki”, or Summer cabin to relish in the simplicity of Finnish Nature. We created a series of 6 videos, all Straight Outta Summer Cabin.

The SureTect™ system tools are truly impressive with their sleek design, robust functionality and attention to detail. We wanted to highlight these features in the best way possible, and created visually stunning high-quality CGI product imagery to showcase these innovative tools in all their glory.

For this device, the fun and light tone of the creative makes the Nokia 2760 Flip phone the star. The product is elevated by simple visual images that fit with the feeling of the music. For this execution, there was no need to utilize lifestyle imagery. MacWell was able to tell the story with a ‘less is more’ approach that mirrors the phone’s design philosophy.

ZEISS is all about pushing boundaries and trying out new things.
We wanted to bring out these in the films that we made to explore the technology and development of the camera. It’s ‘purposeful minimalism’ became the inspiration for the films’ concept, emphasizing functionality over decoration. The beauty of the product lies in purpose evolved into a timeless design.

Launch campaign made for the Nokia X100 smartphone.
The video depicts a day in the life of young city dwellers, who are in the flow of always being on the move and enjoying the fast pace. While situations change, the Nokia X100 is consistent…always ready to serve the needs of its owner, with features and functions which they can access with a touch.
To complement the story and overall tonality of the video, we composed and produced a song that perfectly captures the feel of the concept. The tune and the lyrics highlight the mood of the people enjoying their flow in the video. And quite frankly, it turned out to be an absolute earworm, too.
