2025 has gotten off to a awesome start for NextTravel’s cruise division team, too! 🌊💙

This week our cruise operations experts Virve Kataja and Selja Suominen welcomed their colleagues from our corporate family, Ragnhild and Priscilla from Bdpnext Norway and Ida from BDP Event, Cruise & Learning Expeditions Denmark to our office in Helsinki.

The purpose of their business trip to Finland is to learn how to best use DMC Kit, jointly plan and lay the groundwork for an unforgettable summer cruise season in the Nordics! DMC Kit is a unified platform developed by Next Travel, which serves as a tool for DMCs for all the programs they operate and all the processes involved (from planning and operation to invoicing).

Selja provided the training to the team on how to best use DMC Kit for cruise calls, while Virve and Selja shared their insights into the cruise business how it all works and how to make it seamless for guests.

After their intensive training, the team gathered for a dinner in Helsinki center to celebrate collaboration and shared expertise.

2025 has gotten off to a strong start for NextTravel and our corporate family! Our colleagues Sofie Nyström from NextTravel in Finland and Haelin Byun from BDP in Denmark are thrilled to attend TravelMatch this year, connecting with both new and existing partners from across the globe.

It has been a busy day for Sofie with many 15-minute meetings back-to-back, where she has been presenting the best Finland has to offer and exploring exciting opportunities for collaboration.

Memories from our Bdpnext family annual gathering

Last week, just before Finland’s Independence Day, the BDPNext corporate family came together for an inspiring and productive annual meeting in Oslo, Norway. It was an opportunity to meet our Nordic colleagues face-to-face and share how 2024 has been and what lies ahead.

The agenda was packed with key updates for 2024 and planning for the new year ahead:

Memories from our Road Scholar travel experiences

As we reach the end of 2024, we reflect on the incredible journeys we have organized for the courageous Road Scholar groups from the USA. Since 2017, we had the privilege of welcoming over 250 lifelong learners annually, traveling halfway across the globe to immerse themselves in the rich cultures of the Nordics.

Our final group in late autumn wrapped up their incredible 3-week journey through the Nordic capitals of Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki. From guided tours and fascinating lectures to savoring local cuisine and exploring Nordic art, each moment was an opportunity to learn and discover new insights.

As part of Road Scholar’s mission to offer transformative experiential learning, these trips remind us of the power of living life to the fullest throughout your life by meeting new people, delving deep into history, and truly experiencing the world.

We are honored to be a part of these learning adventures and look forward to planning more inspiring travels in 2025. Thank you for your trust. 💙

❄️🛳️Winter is soon here, and our winter cruise season saga continues! We are thrilled to welcome expedition ships to Finland during winter months for the third winter since December 2021 when Hapag Lloyd’s Expedition vessels started exploring the Finnish waters during winter.

This winter season HANSEATIC spirit from Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and Le Commandant Charcot from Ponant, who will do her maiden visit to Finland, will call to Finnish ports starting at the end of November. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the magic of Finland's icy landscapes from a different perspective.

There’s plenty to experience in wintery Finland – ice floating, Finnish traditions from sauna rituals to reindeer encounters, chasing the Northern Lights and maybe even a visit to Santa Claus itself in Rovaniemi (Visit Rovaniemi - the Official Hometown of Santa Claus)! What a successful summer cruise season it has been! 🌝🌊We have operated nearly 70 calls and offered unique tours to thousands of guests surpassing our tour capacity compared to pre-pandemic years. Well done, Next Travel cruise team! 👏Virve Kataja, Selja Suominen and Gustavo Helal. 👏

Apart from Helsinki, Next Travel’s guests had the opportunity to explore other unique ports of call such as Turku, Rauma, and Mariehamn.

Among the highlights of the season, there were the maiden calls of Cunard’s Queen Anne and TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 7 to Helsinki, Azamara Cruises’ Onward in Mariehamn and Saga Cruises’ Spirit of Adventure in Turku.

The last cruise ship of the season has sailed, and what a perfect day it was to wrap it up! Guests enjoyed a sunny, warm autumn day in Helsinki, participating in a variety of tours around Helsinki as well as nearby cities.

🇫🇮Helsinki and Tallinn 🇪🇪 2 capitals, 1 memorable trip

Helsinki and Tallinn, two must-visit capitals of Northern Europe, are separated by just 50 miles (or 80 kilometers) and a 2-hour ferry ride across the Baltic Sea. Situated in Finland and Estonia, respectively, these neighboring cities share a close historical and linguistic bond, almost like soul sisters.

🇬🇷💙🇫🇮 A memorable Helsinki Highlights -tour!

On a sunny autumn day, we had the pleasure of guiding 150 Greek business professionals on a memorable Helsinki Highlights 4-hour tour around Helsinki! The large group was divided into three groups of 50 guests, each with their own bus, guide, and driver. Starting from different points across the city, each group took a unique route, yet all experienced the main highlights of Helsinki’s culture and landmarks along with insightful commentary and storytelling from our guides.
