Heart warming moment when our guests finally see the northern lights on their last evening with us.

They have been with us for the whole week, been on 3 different northern lights hunting tours but no luck. On their last night, the sky starts to clear up in the afternoon. They have decided to try last time before heading home.

This time nature displayed an amazing show as farewell gift on their last evening in Lapland.

We are so happy for the family 🧡

Good news in Saariselkä, we have received more than 25 cm snow over the weekend.

Happy to announce, snowmobile is back to the game - our first safari happens tomorrow.

🌲 What to Do in Saariselkä When There’s No Snow? 🌲

Happy October!

At the end of September, we welcomed the first proper snow day, although the snow did not stay very long on the ground. It's sure we are one step closer to the winter season.

Last week temperature was a roller coaster, from -8°C to +10°C, full day raining, sunshine , and snow.

Nature is the most diverse in autumn 🍂 it paints our world with different colours. Sometimes, you can see the ruska (autumn colours) meets a dash of powder snow❄️ .

We are very lucky to live in a region where we can see northern lights. We have seen so many colours and variations, yet never get tired of it.

The photos were taken last night 12.09.2024, when aurora forecast hits kp 7. The red and purple were not really visible by naked eyes, but the result by camera is WOW!

Cloud came fairly quick. Within 15 minutes, it filled the sky with grey and the aurora dancing behind it.

☀Midnight sun season is coming to an end, and yesterday night there were already spetaculor northern light show around Finland 🙌🙌 It´s a sign that winter season is coming slowly but surely.

🩷We have been very quiet during the summer time on social media, not only our staffs are enjoying the summer holidays and weather, but also we have been working on a project 😉 that we are so excited to share with you soon.

🍂Autumn season (Ruska) is at the corner, this summer in Lapland is exceptionally warm and dry, due to lack of water some of the leaves already have turned yellow. Hopefully there will be some rain coming 🍂

Happy Midsummer from Saariselkä 🌞

In Finland, Midsummer is one of the favorite and important celebration. People celebrate with a bonfire, grill outdoors and simply spending time in summer cottage with family and friends.

It's the longest day of year, and we can enjoy and appreciate the nature to its fullest.

The night less night season in Lapland begins with warm weather, making it a delightful time to visit. We had a lovely weekend with temperatures soaring above 20 degrees Celsius. Many people also started their swimming season by saying, "Heitin talviturkin," which directly translates to "I threw my winter fur." Isn't that adorable?

Starting in June, there are many ways to enjoy the Lapland summer. You can plan:

💧Water activities: Canoeing, fishing, or adventurous rafting.
🤓Cultural retreat: Visit the Siida Museum and enjoy a cruise on Lake Inari.
🐾Paw power recharge: Spend time with huskies by visiting a farm or taking a hike.
🌿Nature exploration: Take an easy day hike in Urho Kekkonen National Park.

The midnight sun in Lapland occurs during summer months from May to August. Everyday is a step closer to have all the time in the world.

We are at the Season of ice breaking, while some lands are covered by snow, here are some signs for spring:

🐦 Listening to singing birds
🌱 Blooming nature, first plants begin to appear
🌡 Warmer temperature (between -8°C to +6-7°C)
🦌 Reindeer Calves are borned
💧 Ice cracking on the lake and river

Nature is our teacher, pay attention to details. The best things are simple, lay down and enjoy the peace, as well as the tranquility of a nice spring breeze with a dash of snowflakes on face.

We won't miss you snow, at least not now 😃

Happy autumn friends! We were lucky to have a good light show again last night. It started with fainted strips but within 15 minutes the sky was full of dancing colours. Not even mention how many stars were sparkling. It is like a duo dance show.🥰🤯💚 🎀The most frequent ask question we get is "Do we have a chance to see Aurora tonight?" "My Aurora App is showing low chances" I would say, as long as the sky is clear from the cloud, always step outside and have a look.
