Ossi leaving from Varangerbotn. At this point handlers couldn’t believe what would happen next. Dogs looked really good and ready to go but after few kilometer Ossi called that now he has had enough. When Ossi started there was 2 females close due dates and 3 others staring the heats. Some of the boys just didn’t run well in the lead so girls were leading long streches until they started to feel the boys drooling behind them. All hormones and irritation in the air made none of the dogs moving well in the lead. Behind everyone was pulling like crazy but as a leader boys were turning for girls and also girls were turning for boys. Fighting with the problem already over 700km he decided he is not going to get stuck in one of the hardest streches on the race. So Ossi didn’t really have other option than turn the team, drive back to Varangerbotn checkpoint and quit the race in there 😔 feelings were definately dissapointed but right decision in right place.

Ossi was strugeling with leaders on the last leg. Ossi has still 3 females in heat in the team and actually he is cosidering to drop them off and carry on with a male team. Only reason he is not happy to do it is that he would not like to drop Missy out. She have been running with Ossi already 2 finnmarkslopet and is the key member in the team. There is more or less storm until Friday so next leg over the hills is going to be hard

Ossi is out of Kirkenes with 12 dogs in the lines. His hand is actually getting better but the females in heat are making boys hard to focus. Pendejo and Juntunen has been so far the only males who were able to forget the girls behind 🙄 next leg is long 148 so there is some Camping on the trail and we are waiting Ossi to arrive tuesday evening to Neiden 2. It’s time for handlers to get some sleep 😴.

Ossi is on his way to Tana were he will just take some stuff with him and pass. This time the race have had some challenges that we are trying to fix on the way. There is females causing some troubles with their heats when all 5 of them are starting to be in heat and two of them are in their due dates 🫣 and also Ossis right hand has an injury that started to bother him so the whole hand swollon and paibfull. In Levajok he was dropping Hombre who had sore wrist and also Tyrion with sore bicebs. Both of the boys are fine but little upset they couldn’t keep going with the others.

Ossi arrived to Nyborgmoen 18.22 after a lot of passing with the smaller 8 dog class that was starting today morning. Lot of valuable experience for leaders. Trail was super soft today and warm temperature wasn’t making it easy for dogs. Now 4 hours rest and Ossi is planning go out around 22.30

Ossi left from the first check point after 4 hou rest. 10.29 and dogs looked super good. Even the young ones Hector and Hombre whos first race this is. Yesterday start we saw they were a bit confused all the dogs and people around but on the check point they had took the spirit of racing and were ready to go with out any hesitations.

Batmobile is on the trail. Bergebyslopet 350km started in snowy weather and after beginning extra round Ossi is on the trail having some quality time with dogs. On the morning we are expecting him to arrive in Bonakas check point in Tana.
