Visit Rovaniemi - the Official Hometown of Santa Claus
That autumn vibe is starting.
After fresh rainfall the mushrooms are rising, berries are fat and the reindeer are hungry 😋
Today feeding the Reindeer felt extra cool, their antlers are nearly at full growth before the rutting season begins in a few weeks!

Reasons why we love winter in Lapland ❄️🥶
This is why we love winter in Lapland ❄️🥶
Bear watching on the Russian border
A few years ago we had the most amazing sight when watching the bears.
It must have been the rarest of sights.
This mother and her 3 cubs were enjoying their time in the swamp when another bear and her 4 cubs appeared.
The two groups got closer and closer when one of the mothers decided to smell the cub of the other mother. In a moment a ferocious fight broke out, their growls and roars were felt throughout me, my hairs on end and heart rate rising.
After standing on their hind legs exchanging what sounded like some hard hits they settled, circling each other growling.
We didnt quite mamange to film the above mentioned story, but in the video, dont you think its amazing, the sounds she is using to tell her cubs to stay close becuse of nearby possible danger!
Did you know a female Brown bear will mate with many males when in heat, not because she doesnt believe in monogomy, but as a way to protect her cubs. The more males she has mated with, the more males that think the cubs belong to them, and less chance of them killing the cubs!
Check out our page to book a guided experience where you get fully immersed in nature and you get to watch these lovely animals up close in a private hideout!
