Kim and his Allright Racing Husky team are back with us this season! With 10 years of experience in the sled dog world, he runs a kennel of 32 Alaskan Huskies. Kim is primarily based at Santa Claus Village but can also be found at Viiksjärvi running musher tours.

This season, Kim planned to compete in the Lapland Quest 250 km, but the race was canceled due to poor snow conditions. Instead, the ARH team is heading to Bergebyløpet’s 350 km race at the end of January. In March, they’ll participate in Finnmarksløpet 600 km, followed by Pasvik Trail’s 240 km and 50 km races in April.

Kim’s colleagues describe him as easygoing and positive - someone who’s great to work with and keeps things running smoothly. His steady dedication and years of experience are a valued part of our team.

A successful day starts with solid prep. Teams are carefully built to balance work and rest. Every dog has a tailored schedule to ensure they stay fit and happy. Before heading out, dogs get a quick check: paws inspected, booties added if needed, and jackets layered on for extra cold days. Fresh straw keeps them cozy while they wait. On the trail, hydration and energy are key. Between runs, dogs get warm broth and meat snacks to keep them fueled and ready. It’s all about the details, and the reward is seeing the dogs thrive as they hit the trail.

We’re excited to have the , led by Antonia (Anttu) and Tuomo, back with us this winter. With 35 dogs, they bring skill, dedication, and a deep love for what they do.

Anttu and Tuomo work with their dogs at Viiksjärvi, running tours both in our main lanssi and on musher tours. This season, they’re focused on training their young dogs and plan to breed top females in the spring. Some of their younger dogs might even debut at Pasvik.

Committed to their dogs’ well-being, they’ve set a 2025 goal to invest €1,000 monthly in food, toys, massages, and physiotherapy.

Tuuli and Alex, , are back for their second season as mushers with Bearhill Husky. This year, they care for 32 dogs, including puppies, a retiree, and a family dog. Their race schedule features the Gold Rush Run, Pasvik Trail, and To***co Trail, with Finnmarksløpet 600 as the highlight. At Bearhill, they work both at Viiksjärvi running musher tours and at Santa Claus Village.

Tuuli and Alex have extensive experience in long-distance racing, including podium finishes in 250–300 km events. Alex also brings valuable insights from his time as a handler at the Iditarod. Meanwhile, Tuuli is completing her studies in canine rehabilitation therapy, specializing in massage, laser therapy, and rehabilitation to ensure optimal health for their dogs.

Meet Aarni, a 4-year-old male in Emmi's team. With his brother Naava, they form Emmi's powerhouse duo and trusted core. Aarni runs alongside three siblings, plus his parents, bringing strength and speed to the team.

This season, Aarni starts his racing career, ready to prove his skills. He’s versatile, running in any position, and loves both people and running - free or in harness. Known for his humor, he’s a popular playmate in Emmi's pack. If Aarni had his way, he’d live in the car, always ready for the next adventure!

Between runs, it’s important to keep the dogs topped up with energy and well-hydrated. A quick snack, like a chunk of frozen meat or meat soup, gives them just enough fuel without weighing them down.

Chai, from last year’s Tea Leaf litter, is all about enjoying life. He’s always excited to see you—especially familiar faces—and his energy is hard to resist. New situations can make him hesitate, but with a little encouragement, he’s back to his happy, wagging self. Sometimes his puppy enthusiasm shows in jumps and zoomies, but he’s always gentle and full of heart.

Introducing two of our winter tours: Running With the Pack and Northern Exposure.

Running With the Pack offers a 5 km husky sled ride driven by one of our skilled mushers. Along the way, you’ll take in the stunning winter scenery before returning to the kennel for a kennel tour. You’ll learn about our operations and meet the athletes who make it all possible.

Northern Exposure is an adults-only experience where you’ll take the reins, driving the sleds yourself. Our skilled guides lead you through the snowy forest trails and out into the frozen lake letting you enjoy the northern elements all around you. This 3-hour program also includes a closer look at our kennel operations and introduces you to our remarkable team of huskies.

Both tours offer unforgettable opportunities to connect with nature, our dogs, and the spirit of the north.

Before our guests arrive, we ensure everything is carefully prepared. Each sled is equipped with reindeer fur and cozy blankets to keep our guests comfortable and warm. For our athletes, we provide jackets and booties, when necessary, and hay for added comfort.

Our rehoming program is always an ongoing project. While some of our seasoned sled dog veterans are entering their well-deserved retirement, sometimes we're also rehoming younger dogs who we believe would thrive better in a different setting. Maybe the tourist kennel life isn't their scene, and that's totally okay. Our goal is to match them with mushers or families who are ready for the adventure they bring. Troy had found his happy trails in a new home with our crew member Betty @ms.bettybarks. He is thriving in her small team, running with joy. We believe in the well-being of our huskies above all else. Rehoming our dogs is always hard, because for us they are loved co-workers.
