First-time snowmobiling safari at age of 82

Today our guides Martin and Laura had an 82 y.o. gentleman from Netherlands on his first-time snowmobiling safari. He still believes that the best wind-proof material is the old newspaper inside the jacket, which in fact makes sense and our guides are defenitely going to try this out. After months of preparations, our Safartica team is ready for some action during tomorrows Rovaniemi 66 race, here at the Arctic Circle. A 66km challenge in arctic conditions, by foot, skiis or bike. Martin will go by foot and run, Mikhail takes his fat bike for the trip and Laura is going to ski. Team Safartica will start tomorrow morning at 09.00 from Pilke forestry museum. Our Story

Get ready to experience the Safartica Spirit!

Safartica is a privately-owned incoming travel agency and safari house. Safartica is operating in Rovaniemi, the hometown of Santa Claus, and in Ylläs, Finland’s best ski resort next to the vast national park near the Swedish border in North-West Lapland. We offer our services for small 2 persons groups and up to large groups of hundreds of persons.

Book hotel and chalet accommodation, special stay such as glass igloo, all transfers and nature activities from us. Durations of activities vary from 1 h safari to one-week snowmobiling expeditions as per your wish. Similarly, our husky and reindeer safaris operate from 500 m sleigh rides to full day adventures. Last but not the least, Safartica offers Northern Light tours, forest skiing, ice floating and snowshoeing, just to mention a few. Read more about our adventures for You here!

Safartica believes in individual, meaningful experiences, personal service and ever improving programs in Rovaniemi and Ylläs. Safartica, established in 2002, differs from other operators with own safari equipment, own snowmobiles and own venues. We have multilingual guides to cover most European and many of the Asian languages. Our chalet accommodation provides one of the best rated accommodation in Rovaniemi and our two hotels, Ylläs Lake Hotel and Ylläsrinne Hotel, in Ylläs are very well known for their atmosphere and quality.
