Tämä reipas viiden hengen retkeilyporukka kantoi kanootit Unarinkönkään alapuolelle ja lähti laskemaan Meltausjoen läpi aina Ounasjoelle saakka. Joessa oli sopivasti vettä ja 40km matka meni joutuisasti. Marivaaran vuokratupa noin puolessa välissä tarjosi yösijan ja saunan.

Viikonlopun melontaretki Simojoen yläosalla. Jäät olivat poissa ja vesi oli korkealla. Auralammen ja Ranua-Pekkala-välinen osuus n.30 km oli erämainen ja soveltui hyvin yhden yön retkeksi. Jokivarressa oli hieman huonosti telttapaikkoja, joten riippumatto osoittautui oivaksi yöpymisvälineeksi.

Meltausjoki is a good water for canoeing and fishing and there are a lot of places for camping. The whole route is 43km and it contains many enjoyable rapids. The river is located about 50km to north from Rovaniemi and we organise transportation to there.
