Bula friends old and new, Akuilau Island is tribal owned and open for day trips to enjoy traditional Fiji tropical life. We welcome you to visit us when you are in Fiji. Each day at approx. 9.30am the boat leaves the shore in front of The Westin Denarau Island, bound for the quiet paradise of Akuilau Island. We start with a Kava Ceremony and then tour the island showing you our natural medicine p
lants and the wild side of the island. Then it's back to the beach for kayaking, snorkelling and paddle boarding (or just relaxing if that's what you want) while we make a BBQ for lunch. For small and big kids we have turtle feeding and horse riding. We like to finish off the day with a game of Touch Rugby or Volleyball for the more active amongst our guests. The day trip winds-up with a gentle boat ride back to the mainland at 3.30pm Fiji time. We cater for all ages and there is something for everyone to do and see. You will need to be able to jump in and out of a boat in order to take the trip. Activities, lunch, drinks and beer are included in the price of the trip. All people are welcome. Some posts on Trip Advisor state we are only open to guests from the Sheraton and Westin Resorts but this is untrue - everybody is welcome. We are the closest island to the Denarau Resorts on Viti Levu Fiji. Bing and Google maps both have the island incorrectly named as Denarau Island but it is in fact Akuilau island. We are working on having this changed.
