Lomani LOMANI is your own private vacation home on Taveuni Island Fiji. Enjoy seclusion, memories and magic. There is also passionfruit, chilli and lemongrass.

Lomani is set on two beautiful acres and is fenced and gated to ensure privacy and security. Taveuni being the ‘Garden Island’ is the perfect place to create a dream garden. The property offers a range of fruit for you to pick and enjoy for breakfast or as a healthy treat during the day. Subject to the season, there are a choice of oranges, limes, paw paw, pineapple, banana, avocado, mango, noni (

medicine fruit) and pear fruit. There are also a range of beautiful South Pacific fragrant and flowering plants on the property including hibiscus and frangipani. A romantic two person love swing is also in the garden for you to rest on alone or together overlooking the water below. Some local recipes books are provided should you choose to test your culinary skills with the home grown produce or seafood snared from the sea below. In addition, there are some cocktail recipes provided should you choose to enjoy the beautiful sunsets with a cocktail made with home grown produce. The entire two acres is yours to enjoy and roam about in privacy. Lomani is a very romantic private beachfront cottage offering one bedroom with a four poster king size bed (covered by a mosquito net). Leading from the bedroom is a bathroom, toilet and romantic outdoor double headed stone shower. The bedroom also leads on to a living area with all modern conveniences, ie TV, DVD, stereo and a range of games, books, DVD movies and music. Both the bedroom and living area lead onto a spacious deck which extends along the front of the cottage and offers magnificent views out across the Somosomo Straits which separate Taveuni from Vanua Levu. The large kitchen provides views over the Somosomo Straits from every window and opens up onto the deck overlooking the infinity edge pool. The kitchen has a dining area and is fully equipped with all cooking and eating utensils including rice cooker, wok, blender, fruit juice maker and BBQ on the deck. The bedroom, kitchen and living room all have ceiling fans and multiple louvred windows and louvred doors all of which have fly wire cover. The cottage is furnished in traditional locally made Fijian furniture. The swimming pool is 3 x 4 mts and is at the corner of the deck with infinity edges overlooking the water to the west and south of Taveuni. All linen and towels are provided. There is a second bathroom at the rear of the kitchen which also has a washing machine for your use during your stay. There is also a outdoor pergolah area at the rear of the living room. The cottage is environmentally friendly. All power used at Lomani, including the pool, is generated by the Fijian sun through our solar system (with a generator back up in the event of emergency). Fresh water is provided from a nearby artesian spring and is suitable for drinking.

The housekeeper, Kelera, greeted us so graciously, and Knox, her husband, went above and beyond to ensure we had a seamless experience. Not only did he pick us up from the airport, but he also guided us on incredible tours that we arranged with them, making our time even more special. The property itself is absolutely stunning, set in the most picturesque location. Everything about it felt magical, and it became even more significant as we got engaged during our stay! Walking in to Lomani was truly a "WOW" moment and you instantly fall in love. Lomani has the most incredible view up on the hill of the Somosomo Straight right from it's own pool, it honestly doesn't feel real! We cooked our own breakfast in the large kitchen, loved roaming the grounds to find fruits (like pineapples) and tropical flowers. The wifi and Netflix are awesome additions too, but we just found ourselves enjoying switching off and gazing into the stunning sunsets and showered under the stars. Knox was so helpful and picked us up from the ferry, drove us to the shops for supplies, and lots of activities, including the beautiful Bouma falls and we also snorkelled the insanely colourful rainbow reef (amazing dive shop just down the road!). Our experience was enriched greatly by Knox and we enjoyed our time getting to know him. Saskia is also a fabulous host who communicated everything we needed to know before our stay. Glass bottom kayaks and snorkel gear are also available but sadly we ran out of time to use them. There are so many activities to chose from, or equally opportunities to just relax, recharge, and connect with nature and each other. Knox even worked tirelessly all day to cook us a traditional Lovo on our final night at Lomani, which was so delicious and very memorable. It rained quite heavily during our time but it didn't dampen our experience at all. Lomani is a quaint cottage that feels cosy and spacious like home (but with ten times more incredible views). There is something deeply special about Lomani and we hope to return one day but stay longer than three nights. Taveuni is a tranquil, quiet, lush garden island teaming with wildlife, fruit, flowers and creatures (like frogs and geckos), along with such kind hearted people. Unlike anywhere we have ever been before. We are from a busy city and loved how Taveuni is the opposite.

We stayed 5 nights at Lomani and it was fantastic being on the property with such privacy including the plunge pool! The view is amazing up on a cliff where we watched the sunset every evening. We felt at home here as everything was very comfortable. It was nice to have everything we needed including the ability to wash our clothes. There is also a dive shop just across the main road which was very convenient.

We were greeted at the airport by Knox and at Lomani by Kalera who had a Pina Colada waiting for us! They are the caretakers and provided amazing service. Knox was available to drive us whenever we desired to go somewhere and he even picked up our dinner and brought it to Lomani on our first night.

We hope to return in the future for an even longer stay!

Our stay at Lomani was one of the best decisions we made! The island of Taveuni is remote and beautiful, and having this entire house/yard to ourselves made it feel like our own private paradise! Knox and Kelera (the property managers) were fantastic...I loved having a connection with these two locals....they answered all of my many, many questions about the Fijian culture. Knox transported us to and from the airport, and drove us everywhere for the next 3 days...he even waited for us while we did our excursions. We loved the outdoor shower and spent most of our time on the patio. The kitchen was well equipped for anything you would need. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed several fruits from the property. We used the glass bottom kayaks (easy access...right across the street), and also did some snorkeling with the provided equipment. It was a wonderful, wonderful experience and if Fiji wasn't so far, I'd love to spend a month here every year! Definitely recommend!

My husband and I stayed at Lomani for one night. The property exceeded our expectations. Saskia was very communicative and checked in to make sure that we had everything we needed and that our accommodations were fine. Kelera and Knox, the caretakers, were wonderful and attentive. Knox picked us up and helped us with what we needed - from taking us to the market, taking us back to the market to buy wine, preparing our Fijian lovo dinner, and taking us to the dive center. After a few hours, we considered Kelera and Knox to be family and invited them to join us for my husband's birthday dinner. They graciously accepted our invitation. We loved the pool with the heart on the bottom and all of the details of the property. The property was accurately reflected as in the listing and photos. We will definitely return to The Lomani on our next trip to Fiji and will stay longer”

At Lomani we found the best of everything Fiji: 2 acres of manicured lush vegetation, beautiful ocean views across the Somosomo Strait from a cliffside location, a lovely well-appointed home w/ covered lanai, infinity pool, wonderful host (Saskia) & caretakers (Kelera & Knox). Most of all, Lomani provided us w/ the serenity we were seeking & a perfect respite during adverse weather. Kelera & Knox are the local go-to people for all things Lomani. Knox also provided paid transportation services to recommended snorkel spots, food markets, waterfalls, wherever we wanted to go. He is a fun & knowledgeable travel companion, & we thoroughly enjoyed our time w/ him. Knox & Kelera are two local gems that helped make our stay the wonderful experience it was. Before you get there (or once you are settled) provision up, sit back, & enjoy Lomani for all the beauty & serenity it has to offer. You won't be disappointed. Lomani was the highlight of our 6 weeks adventure traveling in Fiji
