From early December, the local towns and cities transform in to winter wonderlands, with ice rinks, concerts, street entertainment and festive Christmas markets.
In January, the 400 year old Carnaval de Limoux kicks off, with a whirlwind of dancing, music and comedy, celebrating the folklore of Limoux, passed down from generation to generation.

A visit to this castle is an absolute must. It is hard to imagine not being touched by emotion, not only by the breathtaking beauty of the site, but by the knowledge that you walk in the footsteps of over 200 Cathars who held out for nearly ten months, before being burnt alive in a field near the castle, for refusing to renounce their faith.
During the siege it is known that some escaped down the sheer rock face carrying the secret treasure or knowledge believed to be the ‘Holy Grail.’
The bespoke kitchen is finished, the final touches making this a wonderful space for dining, entertainment. Enjoy a long, leisurely breakfast at the breakfast bar, before heading out to explore the region. It’s a large and spacious kitchen, with ample room for 8 guests, panoramic views of the vineyards, hills of the Razés and snow capped Pyrénées in the distance.
