HOLIDAY TIME!

We’ve definitely ended our season on a high today when we found that some of our lovely guests very kindly made us some homemade shortbread (which was a really nice touch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿), a thank you for making their holiday so special over the last fortnight 🫶
Not only are we grateful for the kind thought but also love that they felt so at home in one of our holiday rentals that they baked!

As always we can’t thank our lovely guests enough for choosing to stay with us. Our dream of building our little business is growing nicely and we’re so excited for next year already 💫
We still have a few guests to welcome before the end of the year but for now it’s au revoir from Team Voilá Villas (for a few weeks 🌊🐒🌾🌙🥂)

See you back here in December 🙌 ❤️

And just like that it’s November already! As always we love October here in Dordogne. Long and slow walks, sunshine, sunsets, foggy mornings, cosy evenings by the fire, hot air balloons, migrating cranes and pumpkins! All in one month 👏😃

Sharing a bit of love 🧡 This post is inspired by a post I saw this morning of a stunning autumnal scene by talented photographer . Her photo was so beautiful I felt the urge to get into the woods and be surrounded by nature 🫶 🍁

Although my walk wasn’t quite the same as hers in the Scottish Highlands and I didn’t see any highland cows (unfortunately!) it definitely felt good, so thanks Debbie for sharing your beautiful photo this morning!

L A S C A U X

Dordogne is home to some of the world’s most significant prehistoric art. The most famous is the Lascaux Cave, near the village of Montignac in the Vézère Valley (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), which contains nearly 600 Paleolithic cave paintings and 1,500 engravings, mostly of animals like horses, deer and bulls, estimated to be around 17,000 years old.
The original cave is closed to the public to preserve the artwork, but a faithful replica, Lascaux IV, is open to visitors.
