There is a new Wednesday morning market in our village, just a 10-minute walk away. Today, we found local courgette flowers there and made delicious beignets with them for lunch when we got home.

A beautiful and varied hike at the plateau de la Malle above Grasse. It’s a 2.5 hour easy walk around the edge of the Domaine St Christophe (nice name !)

Yesterday, the Tour des Alpes Maritimes raced through our village.
Did you know that we also host other prestigious bike races, such as the Paris Nice, the Nice Ironman, and occasionally even the Tour de France?

The département of les Alpes Maritimes offers challenging terrain and a gorgeous backdrop, making it an ideal destination for cyclists and athletes participating in these renowned races!

Yesterday’s hike above the village with friends led us along the water pipeline, where we ventured through tunnels, spotted sleeping bats, and admired Corsica on the horizon. This mirage of the island is caused by cold air from the north west picking up moisture as it passes over the sea and thus showing the reflection of the Corsican mountains.

The Top Studio is as the name suggests at the top of the house with the best panoramic views.
Originally it was a roof top terrace but was closed in by the previous owners some time in the 70’s, when it became their salle des fêtes or party room. We renovated it in 2006 and it quickly became a firm favourite.
We love the light and airy feel of the space. What do you really like about the studio?

Did you know that we have some incredible walks right on our doorstep? Today we walked up to the plateau de St Barnabé from the pretty mountain village of Courmes which is nestled in a sunny spot above the gorges du Loup.

Look what I bought today in le Bar sur Loup!
Every Friday morning there is a local producer selling his fresh produce in the square. The boulangerie is just next door so a good excuse to pop in for baguette and croissants😋

At last the Google street view car has driven past our house😀 The old image Was from 2008 when our ivy hedge had only just been planted and the slope opposite was bald after the it had been cut in summer time. Already the view of the upper garden big electric gates is out of date. We have now had some swirls added to the top and and a metal screen added to give privacy on the terrace. We just need to paint it now😬

This winter we concentrated on some big improvements in the Top Apartment, in fact 3 major ones.
The most appreciated one this summer will be the air conditioning, which can be reversed in winter for heating.
We moved the washing machine from the kitchen to the big bathroom in order to make a much more efficient use of space in the kitchen with fitted units, induction hob, fitted oven plus extractor fan. We kept the old fashioned double sink, the characterful wooden dresser and we were able to find just enough spare retro wall tiles to continue the splash back.
The bathroom has a brand new loo (the last toilet to be replaced in the whole house !), a super swish new shower fitting plus new sink with plenty of storage drawers. We replaced the cracked and floor with something more modern. We hope you like it !
