Good morning everyone from day two of our 30 day Kickstarter campaign for Remembering Tigers! We have been truly thrilled to see so many supporters step up once again, both returning friends (we recognise so many names and it truly means a lot) and also many new names too, welcome! Thank you all.

We hit our initial target yesterday in super-quick time (8 minutes!) which is wonderful but there is still a long way to go. The more we raise, the more books we will be able to print, not only of the new book but also of titles which are currently out of stock like Remembering Cheetahs and Remembering Rhinos, which so many people have been asking for. In other words, our ambitions for the funding this year are big, so there is still a lot to go for!

So please do follow along and keep spreading the word for us and don't forget, you can always 'upgrade' your pledge while we are still live if you fancy any other of the rewards we have on offer (or indeed open a second account if you want to keep what you have and buy an additional reward). For example, we've lined up some truly special places to stay in India to experience tigers in the wild for yourselves and also travel experts too, to help with every step of that journey. So if you've always wondered about visiting India, now, the year of Remembering Tigers, might be the time to take the plunge!

With our founder Margot Raggett having just come back herself (this image of a tiger is from her visit to Satpura National Park) she is happy to answer any questions from any of you considering going there, it is a truly magical place. Please send us a DM.

Rewards also still available are some incredible original artwork pieces of tigers from Zoe Fitchet Wildlife Artist, Jacha Potgieter - Platform Galeri and Emma Bowring, newly released artwork prints from Gary Hodges Wildlife Art and Natalie's Arts by Natalie Mascall Realistic Wildlife Art and Pet Portraits, photographic prints from Daryl Balfour & Sharna Balfour, Margot Raggett Photography, Tristan Dicks Wildlife Photography and Marius J Coetzee, African safaris (including the virtual safari with guide Tristan Dicks) and all previous Remembering Wildlife books.

Do go and have a look at our Kickstarter page and treat yourself or your family/friends while supporting tiger conservation in the process (it’s a win win!). Access Kickstarter via the comments below…

Thanks again for your support and good luck!

Please read, we need your urgent help to make a stand 🙏

Some background. A Super Tusker is defined as a male bull elephant with tusks that weigh over 100lbs (45kgs) each. Tusks of that size are usually so long that they scrape along the ground when the elephant walks and it is estimated that there are only a few dozen such elephants left on earth. The reason for this, is because they've been targeted by poachers and hunters over millennia for their enormous tusks - meaning their genetic pool has been reduced to just a few left.

And yet recently, three of these bull elephants who crossed the border from Amboseli have been lost to trophy hunters, who are effectively laying in wait in Tanzania. Even worse, another three permits have been issued. This shooting (with permits) is legal in Tanzania and it is this which we need to stop. NOW. For all the hard work on anti-poaching that is done, it is inconceivable that hunters can legally just attain permits to shoot these animals.

We at Remembering Wildlife would therefore like to add our support for the petition being circulated currently to implore the president of Tanzania to halt the trophy hunting permits being issued for some of the last great super tuskers on earth.

Please sign this URGENT petition imploring Tanzania's President Suluhu to halt the trophy hunting that threatens their survival (link in comments).

Please also share this petition with your networks and help the world's conservation community protect these iconic creatures. That some of the last remaining super tuskers are legally allowed to be killed is not only morally repugnant but simply incomprehensible.

Thank you to all of the organisations working day and night behind the scenes to get this stopped. And thank you to every one of you who signs and spreads the word. It is time for the world to wake up and shout because NONE of us wants to only remember them in pictures books.

The Fast Five - The 'Tano Bora', meaning 'The Magnificent Five' in Maa (Maa is the language of the Masai.) This group of adult male cheetas, famous from shows on both Discovery Ch. and National Geographic, the group challenged many assumptions about these big cats, as male cheetas previously were always assumed to be solitary in adulthood.
Only two of the 'fast 5 brothers' are still alive today, this is one of them. His brother was just nearby, watching - always watching each others back ...

On a misty morning, the world is veiled in a delicate, ethereal haze, and you find yourself on the quiet outskirts of nature, where the air is crisp and saturated with moisture. As you wander through the meadows in search of elusive white horses, your senses are heightened by the enchanting atmosphere.

There, emerging from the mist, is the Red Dragonfly, also known as the Red-Veined Darter or Nomad. These exquisite creatures rest on blades of grass or delicate plants, their wings adorned with tiny droplets of dew that sparkle like miniature pearls. The mist lends an almost mystical quality to the scene, enhancing the beauty of these winged jewels.

The dragonflies, with their wings still moist from the morning dew, are temporarily grounded. They cling to the vegetation, their vibrant red bodies contrasting with the muted tones of the misty morning. Every detail of their anatomy becomes more pronounced against the soft backdrop — the intricate patterns of veins on their wings, the slender abdomen, and the large, multifaceted eyes that seem to reflect the mystery of the misty surroundings.

As you observe these Red Dragonflies in their delicate state, a sense of wonder envelops you. The stillness of the misty morning creates a tranquil atmosphere, allowing you to appreciate the fragility and beauty of this moment. The dragonflies, seemingly suspended in time, become ephemeral jewels in a dreamlike setting, reminding you of the enchantment that nature can unveil when explored in the quietude of early morning.

The quest for white horses may continue, but the unexpected encounter with the Red Dragonflies on this misty morning becomes a magical interlude, etching itself into the canvas of your memory as a moment of pure, unspoiled beauty.

A flamingo on its way to a larger lake where he will spend the night. Almost like clockwork these majestick birds take to the skies every day around sunset, to find a suitable place to spend the night. This makes for a good photo opportunity, as the light is usually at its best when this happens.

Follow us on our adventures through instagram and Facebook. We would be honored if you would like to join us on one of our adventures as well.
