Marylou, Jo and Karen are Daughters of the American Revolution, Arizona chapter. At the Normandy American Cemetery, they had selected some of the 38 service members from Arizona to visit, either buried or remembered on the Wall of the Missing. We went and paid our respects.

La famille RUELLAN est la famille française qui a payé le plus lourd tribu lors de la première guerre mondiale. 🇫🇷

Une fraterie de 10 garçons partis au front (6 sont morts au champ d’honneur un 7e est mort en 1930 après avoir été gazé au combat) et 3 filles (2 ont servi comme infirmières).

Today on the 106th anniversary of the Armistice of the First World War I guided Frank and MaryBeth.
Frank’s grandfather, who was born in Italy, moved to New York in 1910. He moved in Connecticut in 1921 where he opened a shoe shop that is still run by the family.
Two of Frank’s uncles who served in WW2, one in the 8th Air Force stationed in England, the other one in the Navy in the Pacific. Both survived.

It’s been an another enjoyable two day tour with fellow guide Vanessa.
We were guiding five siblings and their spouses. They are the children of Tec Sgt Reed W. Budge who served as a medic in the 48th medical battalion , 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd armoured division, and who arrived in Cherbourg on July 28th, 1944.

Today I was guiding David and Rose from Massachusetts. Not only was it their first time in Normandy and even in France, but also their first guided tour ever. They said they had « a delightful day » with me.
Rose’s father was Air Force in ww2 and stationed in India.
