So, no joke, the pool was used by a b&b guest for Wim Hoffing this weekend! Lovely German man, invited by, and friends of, the new owners of the château in Verteuil. His friend, brother and sister in law stayed too. They seemed to have a whale of a time. A medieval theme one evening, all in costume, medieval music, food, eating by candle light. Photos and videos brilliant, and hilarious. Flying back to Baden Baden from Angoulême in a friend’s plane (propeller jobbie) today. He’s coming back to do some fly fishing in the summer and to spend some more time with us!!! Meet some really interesting people in this job.

The crickets are chirruping, we have a family of ducks in the étang at the end of the road, our little (but rather noisy) owls are dive bombing the cat in protective fashion (even though she's minding her own beeswax), so babies must now have been born. Lizard, pyramidal and bee orchids are loving the weather, just love living here. If you come at the end of June you could enjoy cherry picking from our orchard, many varieties and the blossom was stunning, so will be a good year. I think this year I will be making plenty pots of jam

Pool is crystal clear, but rather chilly, so any Wim Hoff fans are welcome to enjoy

To leave the pool open, or close the pool? Decisions, decisions. I suppose if we keep it clean we can use it for some Wim Hoff'ing! We are open all year for gite and b&b and also do longer rentals for up to 3 months.

Well our last lot of guests will leave on Tuesday, been another fully booked season, lots of happy giters. Now back to B&B.
