Our Story
La Longere is a charming self-catering farmhouse villa adjoining a limestone barn at the heart of the Dordogne valley in Perigord Noir, France. It is idyllically situated just 750m from the river, with sweeping views southwards across the walnut trees, sunflowers and maize fields of the Dordogne valley. The cottage is located just 4 minutes from Beynac, 6 minutes from Saint Cyprien and 15 minutes from the regional capital, Sarlat.
There is an award-winning patisserie/bakery less than a mile away (Lucco's), and within 2 miles there's an independent butcher, a wine merchant, 2 restaurants and a snack-bar (by the river). Beynac has a mini supermarket, a delicatessen and a smattering of boutique shops and restaurants. Saint Cyprien is home to a good-sized Carrefour supermarket, a wider selection of shops and restaurants and, perhaps most important of all, an outstanding Sunday market.
The proud owners are Cheryl and James Wright. They purchased La Longere in March 2016 and have spent the best part of a year renovating and decorating it. The work is all but complete and they are delighted to be taking bookings from April 15th 2017 onwards.
Cheryl and James are looking forward to welcoming all of their Facebook friends and family to La Longere over the coming months and years. If you are interested, please feel free to drop them a line. And don't forget to take a look at the website, where there's a whole load of photos and information that might just tickle your fancy!
