The open-air season is officially underway 😎

DJ sets, kid-friendly activities, local food… Since 2016, Open Air has organised free music festivals that bring people together on Sundays in Bordeaux’s green spaces. 💃🕺

The soul of the festival is quite simple: 'always free, multigenerational and electronic' as the team behind the project, accompanied by local partners, is driven by responsible commitments since the beginning of the story. 💚

✅ In 2019, no waste was produced on site.
♻️ Since 2020, the festival has been a signatory of the ‘drastic no plastic' charter and every material is reusable and/or compostable.
🫶 The spaces where it takes place are always accessible for people with motor disabilities.
🚍 And we can come to the festival by public transportation!

5 reasons why you should explore Parc de l’Ermitage Sainte-Catherine 👇

1️⃣ Located in Lormont, it offers a stunning view of Bordeaux, 60 meters above the Garonne river. 🏙️

2️⃣ It is home to a rich biodiversity with several natural habitats. Forest, lake, swamps, calcareous lawns: paradise for nature lovers. 💚

3️⃣ The lake’s water becomes turquoise when the sun shows up (we know it can be tempting but swimming is completely forbidden to protect the species that live here 🙅).

4️⃣ The park is the perfect place to get fresh air during Summer heats. 🌡️

5️⃣ In Summer, you can even spend the night there and sleep in the urban shelter “Le Nuage” for free! ☁️

We give Bordeaux Fête le Vin the go-ahead 😍

From 19 to 22 June, the most famous wine festival is taking place along the banks of the Garonne. And we are very excited about it! 😎

Tastings, legendary ships, local food and music, drone shows: be prepared to spend a unique moment while (re)discovering the diversity of Bordeaux and Nouvelle-Aquitaine wines. 🍷

A week in Bordeaux 🗺️

Summer holidays are coming and it can be tough to choose what to visit during a week. Let’s share our favorite program 👇

1️⃣ Monday: Walk along the quays from Pont de Pierre to Pont Chaban Delmas and stop at Darwin. 😎

2️⃣ Tuesday: Visit Bordeaux city center with a stop at Place de la Bourse, Miroir d’eau, Porte Cailhau and Grosse Cloche. 😍

3️⃣ Wednesday: Take the train to Arcachon, have lunch at a restaurant to try local seafood and chill on the beach, toes in the sand. 🏖️

4️⃣ Thursday: Go to the market on Quai des Chartrons, buy some local food and have a picnic in Jardin Public before visiting La Cité du Vin to enjoy the sunset and the panoramic view of Bordeaux. 🌇

5️⃣ Friday: Take the train to Saint-Emilion, rent a bike and visit 1 or 2 châteaux. 🍇

6️⃣ Saturday: Shopping session! Let’s go to rue Sainte-Catherine, rue Porte-Dijeau and rue Saint-Rémy to buy some souvenirs for you and your family. 🫶

7️⃣ Sunday: Explore the Saint-Michel flea market, get lunch at the Marché des Capucins and enjoy the afternoon at a sunny terrace with an iced tea and a book. ☀️

With it, the urge to make the day last slightly longer and enjoy a special moment outside. 😍

Located on the right bank, Les Chantiers de la Garonne are old boat sheds rehabilitated into a restaurant, a bar and a brewery. The private beach with a sandy terrace offers the most stunning view of Bordeaux. 🌇

As Summer is coming and the weather is getting warmer, we are already planning a day-trip with toes in the sand. Here are some alternatives to the car to enjoy the West Coast and its stunning beaches 👇

🚲 Take the Bordeaux-Lacanau bike route!
This sporty cycle track covers a distance of 66.5km through lake, forest and ocean views. 😍

🚍 Take the coach! Soulac, Le Porge, Lège Cap-Ferret… The Nouvelle Aquitaine company allows us to travel to 12 main ocean beaches daily in July and August. 🏖️

🚆 Take a train to Arcachon!
This charming city is accessible by train from Saint-Jean train station and the trip, which lasts 50 minutes, offers magical landscapes over fishing ports and pine forest. 🌱

This local anthem plays on repeat since the best rugby team qualified to play the final against Northampton. 😎

The adversary team is aggressive and organised but a little bird told us Union Bordeaux Bègles is going to play an epic game and undoubtedly win. 💪

Even if Northampton loses, we will welcome every fan to sing our anthem and enjoy the moment in the fanzone or in one of our Bordeaux pubs. 🤭
