😍 When you are out of words to describe this level of perfection…

TERTRE ROTEBOEUF stands among the Saint Emilion best wines but without being part of the classification.

🍇 Indeed, François Mitjavile (the owner) put all his passion and talent to produce a wine that expresses the true beauty of every vintage through a beautiful clay-limestone terroir.

👃 The nose is on very ripe red fruits, kind of explosive at first before showing many layers of complexity. There are also some spicy, coffee, caramel notes…

👄 : elegant, sensual, with beautiful silky tannins and an endless length.

✨ Low yields, a different pruning and management of the vines, optimal maturity, no added yeast, slow extraction and many other details are the secret making this wine so unique compared to its famous neighbors.

They wanted to have a special moment and they chose the « less is more » experience.

🍷 We had a vertical tasting in the new tasting room of the chateau and it was a magic moment ✨

🍷 TASTING OF A 57 YEARS OLD WINE 🔍

This 1967 vintage produced some light and very elegant Margaux wines…

The tannins were polished after spending 57 years in the bottle as you can imagine.

At first, the nose was slightly dusty but after few minutes in the glass the impression of being in my grandma’s cellar disappeared (remember that describing a wine is personal and I’m sure you know what I mean if you’re used to the old wines).

Few minutes later it was time for the to***co and the leather to show up. The nose was earthy but the mouth was surprisingly fresh and the finish a little bit minty. Oak was discreet but definitively here.
