Our new pool liner with Roman steps was a great success this summer! Our guests enjoyed sitting on the steps with their feet in the water and admiring the view.

Gorgeous autumn day with lovely warm sunshine! Had a walk along the Dordogne and had a lovely view of St Cyprien our local town.
Then sitting on the terrace early evening with the sun on the pigeonnier.

Just managed to capture this hot air balloon flying over us this morning!

Such a lovely way to start the day when you come to stay with us at La Baronnie Gîtes.

As we now approach the last few weeks of the 2022 season we are looking forward to our new swimming pool liner and Roman steps being fitted and other projects over the winter.

Hot air balloons seen from a Manoir bedroom window a few minutes ago! Going to be another gorgeous day. It hit 30c here yesterday. Perfect for our current gîte guests who love the pool!

New for 2022 our wood fired pizza oven. Pizzas came out quite well for our first proper attempt. We hope to serve pizzas on a Saturday evening.

Good news! As of Monday 14th March you are no longer required to wear a mask except on public transport and in a medical situation. Also, vaccination passes will no longer be required for entry to restaurants, pubs, cinemas etc.

This is now a great time to come to France and we still have the odd week available in our gite. For larger groups we have the week 20 -27 August available in both our gite and manoir, sleeping 12 people in 6 bedrooms in total.

On UK channel 5 just now is the world’s most scenic river journeys and tonight’s programme is about the Dordogne river. It’s such a beautiful area with this famous river and anyone who is unsure about visiting just needs to watch the beautiful scenery and interesting châteaux along the way!

A short walk in the sunshine along the hillside brings us to a lovely view of Chateau des Milandes, the former home of Josephine Baker.

The Last Duel is the new Ridley Scott film out in cinemas this week. A lot of this was filmed in nearby Monpazier, Chateau Beynac (only 7km away) and Chateau Fenelon, all very close to us. Looking forward to seeing the film soon and castle spotting!

As we draw to the end of a very busy season we are reflecting on the lovely guests we have had this summer and have enjoyed reading their comments in our manoir guest book, some of which are below:

We have had the most amazing time at La Baronnie Manoir - we spent 2 weeks trying to find something the manoir didn't have and we failed!

Great hosts, amazing views, everything you could want and more! More places and things to do in 2 weeks then is possible to do. Tree climbing (Air Parc) was fabulous and canoeing down the Dordogne.

After the 2020 crazy year we wanted to relax and we could not have found a better sweet home for that than the manoir! We loved everything from the bedsheets to the 'parfum d'interieur' to the glasses of wine shared together!

Thank you very much for your warm welcome in to your beautiful sweet house. We spent a great and peaceful vacation time in Le Grelat.

We have availability in peak season in the gîte but the manoir is already booked from 9 July - 20 August 2022.
