With the weather here making a distinct improvement and the return of the sun what better way to look forward to Summer than planning a trip to a beautiful place? Collioure is a couple of hours by car but certainly worth the effort. A favourite with artists and writers for many years, the light here is amazing and you can soak up its very Spanish vibe either by walking its lovely little streets or sitting on the harbour at one of its many restaurants. A day spent here is never wasted.

If you just want a short break away just like Arnaud then look no further. We have a 3 night minimum stay for June, July & August but if you would like to stay outside of these dates then speak to us and we'll see what we can do!

We all want something different from a break away or a holiday. Some just want to sit back, relax and lounge by the pool for a week or two, some want to be more active, others want to soak up the local food, culture and all that a town, village or place has to offer.

A few days before Christmas we went to visit a fabulous little enterprise - Moulin de la Métairie Gélis, a small independent Olive oil producer in nearby Ventenac-Carbardes. Run by Husband and wife team Alex ands Stacey this place is not to be missed. They speculatively planted some olive trees 15 years ago and this is where their story began they now produce 4 different grades of delicious olive oil and two flavoured varieties - all of which can be bought from their premises as well as fresh olives. We were given a brief telling of their story and an explanation on their production processes then we got to taste them and oh my - were they good! We were also treated to some homemade soup and meringue in order to taste their flavoured oils, Thyme (foraged from their own land) and Lemon and I can honestly say they were magnificent. A visit to this little gem is a must for any food lover.

If its all getting too much and your are dreaming of warm, sunny days then look no further. Plan your stay in one of our 4 self-catering homely gîtes, where you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay. Spend your days lazing by our pool, marvelling at the view or stroll into the village and have a leisurely lunch at one of our 7 bars and restaurants. Alternatively, venture further afield and visit La Cité - a world heritage site or Minerve the ancient capital of the area. There is a wealth to see and do in the area so why not use us as your base and see what our beautiful area has to offer.

The next place we suggest you try locally is a real hidden gem! Le Clos de L'Abbaye is a lovely little enclave situated to the rear of the Abbey. Here you can have a Beer, cocktails, a glass (or two) of locally produced wine and some really tasty little tapas dishes or for those with a sweet tooth they also serve Crepes and ice creams to die for. In the summer months they also have live music in their enchanting little garden but space is limited so make sure you book!

Next in our places to visit we would like to introduce you to Gruissan. A beautiful little village right on the Étang where you can spot Flamingos and other birdlife. Stroll its lovely little streets or walk out to the beach and its salt flats - well worth a visit!

Well what a rather busy but fantastic weekend we have had. We have spend several days helping with the Flânerie Artistique organised by the WonderChouette Association. Saturday's Arty extravaganza was a day of discovery with an Expo of paintings, photos, sculpture, dance, DJ, poetry, spoken word, music and interactive art projects which the public fully embraced. A massive thanks must go to the number of WonderChouette volunteers who helped over the course of the 4 days taken to set up, run and take down the exhibition, and special thanks must go to Aurore de Diamant ART& Jonas Wheeler for organising such a fabulous event. #Caunes-Minervois Village des Arts et des Cultures #aude #art #wonderchouette
