Hi, my name is Katie and I’ve been teaching for 20 years totalling up 26 Winter seasons all over the world.

6 seasons in Andorra was a great starting place, brilliant terrain for all levels so great for teaching – and great for parties!! 4 wonderful winters in New Zealand saw me start my Snowboarding career coaching an all girls under 18s high school team who finished 2nd in the South Island C

hamps. Canada gave me further experience until France beckoned and it is here, over the last 16 winters, where my career has flourished. Gaining the highest international qualification in 2006 I am now privileged to work independently in France. I recognised such similar stories and feelings about skiing repeatedly coming from my female clients. I knew that there was a market to start solving the problems that female skiers face. The approach to womens’ skiing is too often way off the mark creating anxiety where there should be fun and elation. A Ski Goddess Course is an intensive women only ski course within a fabulous and fun holiday. You may want to start skiing with the best possible foundation. You may want to improve your ski confidence in general. You may want to focus on your skiing without the pressures of friends or partners. It could be that you want to free yourself from your fear of steeper slopes. It may be to get really good at off piste skiing. You may just want to have a good fun ski holiday on really gentle slopes without the pressure of a compulsory challenge. Whatever it is – we can start tailoring the course to your exact needs. Ok, so, the secrets out! Yes - This is Gerry and I, with THE F***y Chmelar! Yes, this Olympic/ World Cup athlete (13 podium finishes in Euro and World Cup Skiing!!!) came to teach the Ski Goddesses. Now, retired from racing, F***y is an instructor trainer and has gone down a storm with the ladies. Uber cool, calm and collected, a LOT of fun, with a dry "don't see it coming" sense of humour! 😳🤣😍⛷️💃😎....

Let's hope she comes back next year and maybe YOU will be taught by our rather over qualified ski legend! 💪👌😎💃⛷️

❤️ I had the most amazing time on a 4 day Ski Goddess course!

It was fantastic to have everything organised for you so thoroughly. We had a prompt van ready every morning and afternoon to take us to the slopes, incredible instructing all day with opportunities for hot drinks, lunch, and toilet breaks, beautiful 3 course dinners every evening, and a super knowledgeable ski hire team to make sure you had the perfect kit, even before you arrived…

The chalets were beautiful and modern without losing their cosy feel, and every Goddess was open, welcoming, and great fun! This meant we not only had a fantastic day on the slopes, but we knew we would come back to a warm chalet, hot tub and fizz, and the rest of our fantastic Goddess friends.

I’ve skied a lot before but felt I would benefit from extra tuition and technical training to progress both my confidence and ability on a range of terrain. Katie absolutely surpassed my expectations and I think made an astonishing improvement on my skiing in just 4 days! The lessons are so well balanced between fun and instruction, so you get to scratch the itch of sending it down the slopes whilst getting detailed and personalised instructions to improve.

I honestly can’t recommend this course enough, it was top end of my budget but was worth every penny. You feel the benefit of every aspect, and it was amazing to take off the mental load of planning and organising a trip to focus on my skiing, and my general enjoyment!

It is with a heavy heart that I pay tribute to a wonderful girl whose heart was 100% in the mountains, sea, lakes, and nature.

Sonnia Höffken, whom I was lucky enough to have teach with me this time last year, devastatingly lost her battle to cancer on boxing day 2024. For some of my ladies who were lucky enough to ski with her,
they got to witness her bravery first hand, and as she showed them how to enjoy their skiing like never before, she also bravely demonstrated how to put nature, freedom and “flo” before illness and struggle.

Our utmost heartfelt sympathy goes out to her dear Mum, friends and family.

Do check out her page… because (yes she had life struggles, illness related and just normal ones but…) the pictures you see IS what she lived for. She lived in these environments and encouraged others to witness the beauty of nature and its playground.

I know she would want me to pass on “life is for living, make every day count – be that in your zest for life, the outdoors, your work, your relationships and also for the precious time you give yourself
to sit, relax, and enjoy each simple breath in and out.”

Sonnia posted this “Heart in the Sky”… maybe the elements were calling for her to “return”?

The last time we spoke in November she told me about the heart cloud. The morning after our conversation I walked outside and sent her a heart shaped cloud right there in my sky. Sometimes I think nature does talk to us x.

Many years ago, I had a lovely idea to help women build their Ski confidence and enjoy a luxury ski holiday while doing it. Fast forward a few years, and the 100s of amazing Goddesses that have joined us. We are now going into our biggest year to date. A massive thank you to everyone who has supported Ski Goddess. It truly means a lot.

We are here checking in with the lovely Fee at @skihire2u . They provide Ski Goddess and lots of other people visiting Châtel with a first class Ski & boot fitting service during the ski season.
