A last minute cancellation means we have a week available from Saturday 31 August to Saturday 7 September in our four bedroom gite near Cognac, Charente Maritime. One hour from La Rochelle. Sleeps seven.

Delicious lunch today at one of our favourite restaurants Auberge LES Romarins within two minutes of the house. It's run by Val and JF some of the nicest restaurateurs we have met. So many great places to eat around here. What are you waiting for?!

We are in full high season mode at Maison des Lilas and are fully booked through until early September. The temperatures have been in the mid 20°C to the early 30s...so nothing crazy like in Greece.

We're taking bookings for summer 2024. DM for availability.

New for summer '23 season our cute outdoor kitchen and BBQ situated in the old piggery in the walled garden. Perfect hangout for the blokes with a beer while the ladies do all the hard work in the kitchen! 🤣

Wildflowers of Charente Maritime in the hedgerows on our walks around La Touche, Cornefou and Louzignac. No Mow May UK has nothing on this! We still have some weeks available in June and a week in August at French Connections

We're out here for the month of May having a holiday and completing some projects in the garden and courtyard. The roses and wild sweet peas are in full bloom! I also took a photo of the little stream at the back of the stable which is currently flowing. We have one week in August currently still available. ABANDONED MYSTERIOUS HOUSE 😲🇨🇵👻

I was fascinated by this mysterious, abandoned looking house in Cancale near Saint Malo on our last trip to Maison des Lilas. Shabby shutters, overgrown garden with rambling roses and ivy and peeling paint on the ironwork. It really struck a chord and made me want to find out who lived there and when it was abandoned. Or maybe it's still inhabited. What do you think?

On our last visit to Maison des Lilas in October we carried out an extensive programme of redecoration downstairs in the kitchen and salon. We also upgraded the furnishings in the salon with new sofas, armchairs, cushions and lighting. We were really pleased with the results and look forward to welcoming our 2023 season guests.

"We can highly recommend a relaxing holiday in this lovely property in the scenic French countryside. There was ample room for our party and the accommodation was exactly as described. Detailed information and prompt communication from the owner made for a smooth reservation and stay. The superb pool, which has seen significant investment, and covered outdoor seating area, were a real hit as was the tranquil private garden for evening BBQs. Frequent trips to local towns proved more than enough excitement, we particularly enjoyed our time in Cognac and Saintes. A big shout out to Bernal and his wife, he looked after the pool superbly during our stay, it was spotless, and was happy to recommend places to visit, thank you, you are a real asset to any property owner and their guests."

Beautiful Maison des Lilas on our recent trip to open up the house and check on some building works. BIG NEWS! We have a brand new pool liner and have installed heating in our gorgeous 8 x 4 metre swimming pool. It wasn't finished when we were there so will share photos soon! x

FRENCH HOLIDAY HOUSE AVAILABLE! 👙🩲

With the government announcement made last night regarding France staying on amber we are finally looking forward to welcoming some British families this summer to our beautiful four bedroom farmhouse in south west France in the Charente Maritime.

We have TWO SUNNY WEEKS available still August 21 - 28 August and 28 August - 4 September. We also have two weeks in September Sunday 12 - Sunday 26 September. If you fancy lying on one of these sun loungers beside this beautiful swimming pool, glass of sauvignon blanc in hand catching some rays then DM me! 🏖 😎🌞🌻
