We are a British family, moved up to La Taillede in 2015 and embarked on an enormous renovation project. We now can offer a variety of beautiful high-end accommodation right here in the French Pyrenees. We have 2 one bedroom apartments available to rent (Gite Noisette & Gite Cerise) with sauna and cold plunge pool, a 3 bedroom apartment with private wood fired hot tub (Gite Canigou), and a 2 bedr

oom gite, also with private hot tub. We also have a yurt which we rent out in the summer and use for yoga and other activities in the Spring and Autumn. We have lots of animals (chickens, donkeys, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs & cats) and grow some of our own vegetables. We also have our own forest, saw yard and workshop, so we can make anything out of wood; eg. hot tubs, furniture, mirrors, signs, pergolas, fencing, lintels etc. For the full story, please see our blog; www.lataillede.com

Yesterday, we said goodbye to Rocco, who was part of our family for 13 and a half years.
We got him from the SPA; a rescue centre in Perpignan.
When we first visited La Taillede with the dogs, Rocco, for the first time ever, refused to get in the car! He say on the top of the front steps, as if to say, ‘This is my place’, so we had to buy it for him!
He then put up with an influx of animals and never seemed to care if there was a chicken in the house or a goat in his bed. He never killed, chased or harmed any animal (or person of course).
He was also never sick.
So, if you are looking for a dog, think of checking your local rescue centre first. You will probably find a great one like Rocco!
RIP Rocco, we miss you.

đŸ‡«đŸ‡· Hier, nous avons dit au revoir Ă  notre adorable chien, Rocco, aprĂšs 13 ans passĂ©s dans notre famille.
Nous l’avons rĂ©cupĂ©rĂ© du refuge SPA Ă  Perpignan.
Lorsque nous avons visité La Taillede avec les chiens, Rocco pour la premiÚre fois a refusé de monter dans la voiture pour partir!
Il s’est assis en haut des marches comme pour dire ‘C’est l’endroit pour moi’. Alors, on dit toujours que nous avons achetĂ© La Taillede pour lui!
Ensuite, il a supportĂ© un afflux d’animaux et n’a jamais semblĂ© dĂ©rangĂ© par la poule dans la maison oĂč une chĂšvre dans son lit; et n’a jamais pourchassĂ© un chat ou un mouton etc

Et il n’était jamais malade!
Que cela vous rappelle que si vous rechercher un chien, consulter d’abord votre refuge pour animaux local. Vous trouverez probablement un trùs bon chien qui a vraiment besoin d’un bon foyer.
Tu vas nous manquer Rocco.

What a lovely retreat group from the UK. Thank you for bringing your group to La Taillede. Thank you also to our incredible chef, Karolina, and to our amazing masseuse and energy healer, Audrey. Thanks also to Matt and Yann (behind the scenes), and (while I’m at it) I think I should thank the donkeys for making hiking so fun, and Tai đŸŸ and our old dog Rocco đŸŸfor all the love. ❀

When it’s hot, we like to go to the Riuferrer river. It’s a 30 minute walk from La Taillede. Today we swam in 3 pools (there are more) and enjoyed the cool water; so did the dogs! 💩 La riviĂšre de Riuferrer est 30 minutes Ă  pied de La Taillede. Aujourdui nous avons profiter de l’eau fraĂźche et nous avons nagĂ© en 3 piscines naturelles. Our Story

We are a British family, who since 2014 have been renovating this incredible hill farm and building beautiful holiday accommodation in the French Pyrenees, at 950m altitude. We currently have 2 one bedroom apartments available to rent (Gite Noisette & Gite Cerise), plus a 3 bedroom apartment with private wood fired hot tub (Gite Canigou). Brand new for the summer of 2018, we can also now proudly offer a large 2 ensuite bedroom top floor apartment, with the best views on the property (Gite Carlit) with it’s own BBQ, terrace and ‘secret’ forest garden! We also have a yurt available in its own private field with large terrace and private summer kitchen, bathroom, fire pit & BBQ. We have lots of animals (sheep, chickens, goats, pigs, dogs, cats and a donkey) and grow all our own vegetables.
