As we await the addition of housekeeping, de-clutter, re-organising, re-styling and house cleans etc to my siret number, I tried out the hack to clean my lounge rug that is WHITE (only the brave will understand) with a jet wash! Well it turned out to be very effective. It's not an heirloom and 100% polypropylene so I wasn't risking a valuable antique, but it came up fabulously. I added zoflora and a small amount of washing powder mixed together and used that for the cleaning. A full day and a half of drying and voila. Now we need to move her back in place. I will probably clean her again in the spring and again at the end of next summer. Be brave and give it a go!

In the past when I was dreaming of living the good life in France, having a pool was never on my must-have list!
However, to invite people to spend they’re hard earned holidays with us having a pool is a must!
I never in a million years envisaged the amount of maintenance involved though 😅

That’s our lunch sorted ❤️ one of our guests came bearing gifts - that’s a first for us and made our day ❤️
A bottle of red and à fromage de chèvre from her part of France! How nice is that!!
Together with our homegrown tomatoes and pain au cereals from our village bakery it will be a feast ❤️

HARVEST 🌾
Living in a relatively quiet village in rural south-west France, the summer months bring a 24/7 activity to the local agricultural cooperative and a flurry of farming machinery through our village 🚜🌾
We have a whole new appreciation for the farming community and we have loved seeing the fields of barley, rye and flaxseeds 💛
Luckily the sunflowers will grace us with their beauty for a few more weeks 🤞🌻

SUCCESS | our first yoga and wellness day-retreat was a success! 🌸💕🌸
Everyone enjoyed the yoga session provided by Jo Andrews, taught in a slow, considered style to encourage you to connect truly and deeply with your body, your mind, your emotions, your very soul.
Integrating somatic movements for a unique experience. 🌸
We provided a Mediterranean inspired lunch, with recipes taken from . 🌸
Those who had booked taster sessions with and were definitely in for a very nice self care treat 🌸💕🌸
The glistening pool provided a welcome cool down despite being heated!! 🌸
Thank you to everyone who participated and bring in next Friday for a repeat 🌸

there is an abundance of roses in the garden at the moment! They were all pruned heavily and if you swipe you’ll see one of the bushes and how huge it is and full of buds and flowers. 🩷

It’s that time of year again! Time to start thinking about packing your suitcase with shorts, t-shirts, flip flops, bathing suits and sun cream 👙☀️🕶️
We’ve been busy updating our gardens, pool area and the private patio area, just in time for the summer season!
Have a look and tell us what you think! We’re pretty pleased with the result! 🤩 And of course most of the improvements have been done using recycled wood for sustainability 👍💚

Making the most of the lovely weather! Is it possible that the warmer temperatures have arrived for good!!
The BH was spent creating a woodland path from our pool area to our glamping area using recycled pallet wood and wood chippings. Can’t wait to put the tent up next month and see the full effect especially in the evening lit up with solar lights 🤩

Are you waiting patiently for a gorgeous spring day to arrive? Can’t wait to sit in the garden soaking up some warm spring sunshine ☀️ 🌱
I can assure you that while we’re waiting for warmer weather there are things happening in the garden:
The mimosa is full of buds ready for next month (if we’re lucky)
Daffodils are definitely growing fast but are surrounded by weeds at the moment!
I’ve even spotted a few tulips trying to peep through!
I wonder what the farmer will plant in the fields this year. 🌾🌻

Do you like making meals from scratch? 😍
I appreciate not everyone likes to cook, and I get it as it also depends on whether your cooking is appreciated or not…
When we moved to the middle of rural farming France, which couldn’t be more different that the rat race we lived in the UK, I hoped I would be able to cook from scratch!
I love the French farmers markets with their seasonal products! It’s kind of forcing us to cook differently too. It’s great, right! Makes me look forward to the asparagus season, the strawberry season and so on… 🤩
So last night I served homemade potato gnocchi- why did I ever buy these in the shop!!!

Do you remember back in April we moved an old palm tree from over to our garden?!
Well we’re happy to say that said palm tree survived the shock of moving and is now thriving 🌴💚 Amazing what a bit of water (a lot) and fertilisers can achieve! 😂

After days waiting for the rain… which never materialised in much! It’s lovely to again be able to see the sunset colour the few clouds on the horizon 🧡
We are lucky to have a full house again but it’s clear the summer season is quickly coming to an end 😞 the garden looks like it should be October instead of August with the amount of brown leaves!! 🍂🍁
The farmers are desperately wishing for rain to save the crops, the field of sunflowers surrounding us have long dried up - think they only flowered for about 3 weeks! Is this the new norm, I wonder!

It was perfect weather for a visit to today 🍰😃as usual there is a variety of gorgeous cakes to choose from and my favourite today was frangipani with rhubarb! We also had carrot orange and chocolate cake and a chocolate and lime cake - so delicious 😋
