🇺🇸 Near to the Marche des Capucins market in Bordeaux is Cérès Boulangerie, a baker-owned shop producing beautiful products with locally grown, heritage grains. Chef Pacôme BEAUJARD studied pastry in Nîmes and works with La Ferme Chaudron Magique in Brugnac (a bio farm you can visit) to source his flour.
I’ll certainly be heading back, needing to get another one of their decadent praline filled puff pastries ‘Auguste’ for my praline obsessed daughter!

🇺🇸 Any time I get to share the Bassin d’Arcachon with clients, it’s the best! We got a beautiful day to enjoy the villages and nature, but of course the best part is oysters! This seafood loving couple living in Japan even bought their own cooked seafood from a local shop to make their own platter for dinner, sure sign of good times!
🇫🇷 Chaque fois que je partage le Bassin d’Arcachon avec des clients, c’est top! Nous avons eu une belle journée pour profiter des villages et de la nature, mais bien sûr, le meilleur, ce sont les huîtres! Ce couple amoureux de fruits de mer vivant au Japon a même acheté des fruits de mer cuits dans un magasin local pour préparer son propre plateau pour le dîner!
🇺🇸 This is a photo from 20 years ago, can’t believe I can say that! M/Y Maupiti which was a converted discovery vessel based in Genova, Italy. I started as a relief crew chef and stayed season as stewardess, but loved helping the chef any time I could. Still the biggest lobster I’ve ever seen. I think we were off the coast of Naples at the time? Sad there are so few photos from what was an incredible time in my life. Great memories!

J’ai commencé comme chef d’équipe et je suis resté une saison comme hôtesse, mais j’adorais aider le chef chaque fois que je le pouvais. C’est toujours le plus gros homard que j’ai jamais vu. Je pense que nous étions au côté de Naples à ce moment-là? C’est triste qu’il y ait si peu de photos de ce qui a été une période incroyable de ma vie. Bons souvenirs!

The head chef of Le Pressoir d’Argent, Chef Gaëtan Fiard, will delight you in this new, elegant tea salon with sweet and savory options. The bo***ir, a pastry invented over two hundred years ago which traditionally accompanies champagne, will be reinvented with seasonal fruits and regional produce. While we certainly enjoyed the pastries and champagne this evening, I’ll look forward to sitting in the velvet chairs with a cup of tea on my next afternoon in Bordeaux! Thank you for the wonderful evening to enjoy with old and new friends!

Le chef du Pressoir d’Argent, le chef Gaëtan Fiard, vous régalera dans ce nouveau salon de thé élégant aux propositions sucrées et salées. Le bo***ir, pâtisserie inventée il y a plus de deux cents ans et qui accompagne traditionnellement le champagne, sera réinventé avec des fruits de saison et des produits régionaux. Même si nous avons certainement apprécié les pâtisseries et le champagne ce soir, j’ai hâte de m’asseoir dans les fauteuils en velours avec une tasse de thé lors de mon prochain après-midi à Bordeaux! Merci pour cette merveilleuse soirée à savourer avec d’anciens et de nouveaux amis!

🇺🇸 That rose cider in the sunshine really hit the spot! This location in Saint Croix du Mont is always a favorite for us but the new owners have really updated the bar nicely! The view over the Garonne River valley is unbeatable. Oysters, caviar, charcuterie, wines, ice cream…all the necessary components for a lovely afternoon snack or aperitif! Many local / regional options.

Capbreton has to be the best place to visit in SW France for the true lover of fresh fish. Sure, there are many coastal towns with fishing communities, but I have never enjoyed such fresh fish and seen such wonderful selections offered by fish mongers, as I have in Capbreton.
