It’s been a busy few weeks of change at Les Gites De Meterville. Rose has got a shiny new bathroom, which was professionally installed by Mike Thomas of Artisan (and just needs us to buy and install a new heated towel rail and mirror to go above the sink).

Meanwhile, we’ve planted a fabulous row of lavenders outside Lavender gîte (with a little help from Alison!). The lavenders still need to be mulched and a border will be installed - but we are on target to have that job done before our guests start arriving for D-day.

Orchid’s garden has also had a makeover, with the fencing having had a coat of black paint and new planters installed.

Our latest French guests are visiting with their granddaughter. Little Naomi wanted to see cows being milked. Tom and Jodie used their best French to arrange a visit to the farm across the road.

Tomorrow will be the 78th anniversary of D-Day. That means lots is going on in Normandy and we’ve been busy with bookings.

A British family enjoyed a week in Rose, which provided the perfect base to soak up the D-Day atmosphere!

Meanwhile we have Belgian and American groups in Orchid and Lavender respectively. Both groups have been taking part in the Voie de la Liberté, which is a huge cycling event that takes place every two years (although, thanks to Covid, it’s the first time we became aware of it!)

Yesterday saw a new group of French tourists check into Rose to soak up more D-Day activities.
