Today, we stand at the grave of Theodore Roosevelt Jr., the eldest son of President Theodore Roosevelt. A courageous leader, he played a pivotal role in the D-Day landings on June 6, 1944. As a Brigadier General, he led the 4th Infantry Division onto Utah Beach. Despite being the oldest man and the only general to land with the first wave of troops, he demonstrated extraordinary bravery and leadership. His famous words, “We’ll start the war from right here!” as he directed his men amidst the chaos, exemplify his courage. For his actions that day, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. His resting place here reminds us of the sacrifices made for our freedom. 🌺🕊️

Today, I had the pleasure of guiding wonderful clients through the breathtaking beauty of Normandy! 🚢 After their cruise ship docked at the port of Le Havre, we embarked on an adventure filled with stunning views, rich history, and charming villages.
First stop: **Étretat** 🏞️
We marveled at the iconic cliffs and natural arches, exploring the same paths that inspired so many artists. The azure sea and dramatic landscapes made for perfect photo opportunities.
Next, we visited the enchanting village of **Veules-les-Roses** 🌹
With its quaint half-timbered houses and the shortest river in France, Veules-les-Roses is a place that feels like stepping back in time. We strolled along the serene riverbank, admired the beautiful roses, and soaked in the peaceful atmosphere.
Our final destination was **Fécamp** 🏰
This historical town is a treasure trove of Normandy’s maritime heritage. We wandered through its picturesque streets and ended our visit at the majestic Benedictine Palace, learning about its rich history and savoring the unique Benedictine liqueur.
From the cliffs of Étretat to the idyllic beauty of Veules-les-Roses and the historic charm of Fécamp, this day was truly a journey through some of Normandy’s finest gems. 🌸✨

My gratitude is boundless for all the veterans and the 156,000 men who landed by air and sea in the largest amphibious military operation of all time, giving their lives to change the course of history and advance the cause of freedom. I am committed to preserving their memory by continuing my work as a tour guide in this historic region. It is my mission to ensure that future generations understand the immense sacrifices made for the better world they live in today.
