Classic France, 40 minutes from Calais

Please excuse the ‘Allo Allo’ reference but the series was set in a village called Nouvion which is about 45 KM from here, just north of Abbeville in the neighbouring Picardy region. Unfortunately Cafe Rene is a fictional bar but there are numerous real life bars, cafes and restaurants all over Picardy & the Pas de Calais with the same ambiance.

There is no need to travel far from Calais in order to discover wonderful, old fashioned rural France. Fourty minutes is all you need to drive from Calais to Valley Farm, here in the pretty village of Inxent, at the heart of the Pas de Calais region. Situated in the Vallee de la Course we are just 10 minutes drive from the gorgeous old market town of Montreuil sur Mer and 20 minutes from Hesdin, gateway to the 7 Valleys. We are also only 20-30 minutes drive from both Le Touquet and Hardelot, chic seaside resorts on the beautiful Cote d’Opale.

The house was renovated in 2011 as the home of the Collins family, Anita, Ian, Oli and Marty. We lived very happily here for 3 years before work took us to Aosta in Italy. We try to make it back every summer for our holidays but otherwise we are delighted to be able to offer the place between May and September to visiting families and other groups who sensibly choose this area for their holidays.

There are beds and ample accommodation for up to 8 people. There is a large BBQ deck and a secluded garden, a games room with ping pong table, a comfortable sitting room, a large kitchen/dining room with snug, 2 wood burners, 3 bath/shower rooms, a downstairs w/c, Livebox wifi, SKY TV, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. We don’t have central heating which is why we only take bookings in the summer, although there are electric radiators in all the bedrooms and bathrooms for when it is chilly (never happens 😎😉).
