Chalet La Giettaz is a recently-refurbished development of 10 self-contained boutique apartments, with private spa and bar complex, located in the beautiful Alpine village of La Giettaz, France. The development comprises one large chalet building, divided into 10 individual apartments, each sleeping between 2
and 10 people. All apartments have been refurbished in 2009 with their own fitted kitchens and have been comfortably furnished with a touch of luxury to provide restful, cosy accommodation in a beautiful mountain setting. Guests at Chalet La Giettaz can benefit from exclusive, free-of-charge use of the fantastic on-site spa complex (complete with stunning views across the valley). We also have a relaxed, inviting bar and lounge area that benefits from the same superb views, where you can enjoy an après-ski drink or two in a friendly atmosphere. Flexibility is key to your holiday at Chalet La Giettaz. Our apartment configurations mean that, no matter the size of your party, we can accommodate you and your family and friends in comfort. Many of our bedrooms offer en-suite bathroom facilities and all apartments overlook the valley, most of them with balconies or terraces. When it comes to catering arrangements, once again we offer you a range of choices to make your holiday as flexible as possible. On arrival, you will find a welcome hamper in your apartment, containing some light snacks and something handy to toast the start of your holiday. Each morning, we will deliver freshly-baked (in the village bakery) bread and croissants to your door. All apartments have fully equipped kitchens, or if you prefer not to cook, we offer evening meals served in our bar area. Children are always welcome at Chalet La Giettaz. Baby equipment such as cots, high chairs and steam sterilisers are available on request from our reception area. We can provide an on-site baby-sitting service in the evenings, and during the day there are crèche facilities in the village. Skiing/Boarding Facilities:
La Giettaz is at the western edge of the huge Evasion Mont-Blanc ski domain, which offers 445km of pistes, 125 lifts and a great selection of varied conditions to suit skiers of all levels. Boarders have the extra benefit of 4 dedicated snowparks across the domain. Chalet La Giettaz is just a few minutes drive from the nearest lifts, giving you direct access to this fabulous facility, which also includes the larger resorts of Megève, Combloux and Saint-Gervais. Peaks in the domain range from 1700m up to 2300m, so the area usually benefits from good snow throughout the season. Equipment hire is available from the village and there is also a ski school to help you perfect your technique and make the most of the access to these superb pistes. Should you not wish to drive, we have our own private minibus and are delighted to take you the short distance to the local lifts, and collect you at the end of the day. The village also runs its own free shuttle bus service that stops outside the chalet each day. The Evasion Mont-Blanc is the most accessible domain, but La Giettaz’s location allows you to also make use of two other fantastic ski areas: the Espace Diamant and the Massif des Aravis. The former is an area of 185km of pistes, situated directly to the south of the Evasion Mont-Blanc facility and including the resorts of Les Saisies, Notre Dame de Bellecombe and Praz-sur-Arly. The nearest lifts are less than 20 minutes’ drive from Chalet La Giettaz. The Massif des Aravis offers you a further 220km of pistes around the popular resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand. Again, the nearest lifts are less than 20 minutes’ drive from Chalet La Giettaz. Chalet La Giettaz has its own private bar and lounge that is open every evening for you to unwind and discuss the day’s on-piste achievements! The village has a small selection of cosy bars and restaurants within walking distance of the chalet. The sparkling glamour of Megève is a short taxi ride away, or if you prefer something more family-friendly then La Clusaz is equally accessible. We are happy to recommend where to go and make reservations for you. For those less energetic evenings, wi-fi and satellite television are available in all the apartments and we have a selection of video games consoles, games, DVDs and books for you to borrow from the reception area. One of the charms of La Giettaz lies in its picturesque, off-the-beaten track situation. For this reason, although not essential, we recommend that you have your own car, as public transport services to the village are limited. We offer the flexibility of arrival days on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing you to plan your journey in the most cost-effective manner and make the most of your time on the slopes. Geneva Airport is approximately 80km from La Giettaz and can be easily reached in little over an hour by car. There are a wide range of flights from many UK airports to Geneva throughout the year. Lyon and Grenoble Airports are both around 160km, or 2 hours’ drive from La Giettaz. Connections to the UK are fewer than Geneva, but you may find either more suitable. Some chartered airlines use Chambéry Airport, which is also around 80km from the village. Car hire is easily arranged at all airports. By Rail:
The famous Eurostar ski train runs direct from London to Moutiers, just over 50km from La Giettaz, overnight on Fridays and through the day on Saturdays in as little as six and a half hours. The nearest stations served by France’s excellent TGV network are Annecy, Sallanches and Albertville; these are all less than one hour’s drive from La Giettaz. Bus services run from Geneva to Megève and La Clusaz, and there is a direct bus service from the TGV station in Albertville to La Giettaz.
