The Gites at Le Tilleul

It is with somewhat mixed emotions that after 5 wonderful years, Ruth and I had our last week at Le Tilleul and have now passed the gîtes over to their new owners, Kate and Matthew Wright.
We have both enjoyed the last 5 years immensely and have fantastic memories to take with us of our time there! We were lucky enough to meet some wonderful guests and to have made some good friends in the area.
We welcomed guests from all over Europe and from as far a field as Australia, the US, Singapore, South Africa & Brazil.
Thank you to all those who supported and encouraged us throughout and especially to those who visited and stayed at Le Tilleul, sometimes year after year and who helped turn the gîtes into the success that they became.
We will now be moving on to our next adventure! A few pics attached of our time at Le Tilleul!

Well hopefully we will have enough grapes from our vines for at least a decent cheese board this year! 🍇 😎 The pears and walnuts should go nicely too with a lovely Roquefort 😋

Lunch in La Rochefoucauld (15 minutes from the gîtes). A great selection of restaurants including french bistro, crêperie, Limousin Steak House and Moroccan. We opted for the Plat du Jour, in the sunshine on the pretty terrace of the Au Moulin du Château restaurant which sits alongside the river, below the beautiful Château de la Rochefoucauld. 😋 ☀ 🏰 🇫🇷

As the result of an unexpected cancellation today, we now have a week available in either one of our gites, or the two combined (Le Pommier -sleeps 6 & Le Cerisier- sleeps 4) for late August - 27th to 3rd September 2022. New Year... New Lake... New Walk...🚶‍♂️😎🌳🇫🇷

Only 20 minutes from the gites, is the family friendly Lac de Saint-Mathieu with trekking, VTT trails and the beautiful 2.5km perimeter lake walk which we enjoyed today (along with a picnic) in the glorious sunshine! 🌞

There is a large sandy beach, wooded and grass areas, picnic tables, a children's Playpark,
Mini Golf and a nearby café and restaurant. In July and August there are also water activities at the nautical base. 🛶
