Zoo Parc Beauval is just North of our Gites. It's a fabulous place with an international reputation for caring for and breeding animals from around the world. It probably needs more than a one day visit, so why not go twice while you are staying at Gites de La Richardiere.

For those who like to sit quietly and watch, this is the place to be. There is plenty of wildlife near to our Gites, but literally, just down the road, is the Brenne National park with thousands of birds which are readily observed.

Summer is a great time for enjoying the flowers here at Gites de La Richardiere. Here is just one small example of places here where guests can sit and relax. This is next to our Gite Le Pigeonnier where there are excellent views of the countryside.

UPDATE: As expected the Colza flowers have really opened up now that it's warmer and brighter. We really are an "Island in the Sun".

How does that song go? "...Oh Island in the Sun!" That's us, surrounded by Colza (R**e Seed) and it's fabulous yellow flowers. It's hard to catch the light just right, so look out for some more pictures once the temperature goes up; the sun shines more intensely, and the Colza flowers open up with larger petals.
