It's been one the best starts to the season ever at Redmill. Both number and average size of the Carp caught. Started with Jack and Ben returning after their success last year. They have had 30 carp between them including 5 40s and 2 50s.. There have been over 100 carp out already with 35 over 40 and 4 new 50s.

OK . Here we go. First proper weeks fishing. Been ups and downs over winter. Lost the 2 large willows on the Dam bank with the strong winds over winter. But looks like it has moved the fish around. Bit of a mystery for me at the moment as I dont know where the carp want to be or feed right now. But this week has shown a few things.
Jack and Ben had a good week with 19 fish 11 over 40lb. Largest 49lb.
Strange there where no big commons.

I am not one to put personal feelings on social sites but our friends that know us will know the time we have had over the last year. We just want to let everyone know that as Yve will say " All is good"

Look forward to this year and seeing our old friends back and meeting some new friends. Never forget its not just the fishing. Its the experience.

Last week was very dry and hot. Not ideal and another group of fish decided to spawn. However there were 14 carp caught with 2 PBs including a 53lb mirror 2x 40s and 7x 30s. It was great to chill out Friday evening with a BBQ. Great to see Neil, Jez and Paul back again and nice to meet Ben and Mark and there family for the first time. Looking forward to seeing you next year.

The last couple of weeks has been very warm here at Redmill. However the fishing has remained consistent. The week of 7th we saw the arrival of 5 anglers. The beginning was productive but the carp started spawning on the Wednesday. Still there were 14 fish with 4x 40s and a 52lb 4. All three of Stuarts fish were PBs. Well done.

The following week the Welsh crew arrived. Even with high pressure and hot conditions 17 fish came out with 6x40s and 2x50s to 55lb 6

We had the pleasure of having Nick and Steve here 23 April they had the lake to themselves and made good use of it. Steve left with 3 PBs, a 48lb 6 common 42lb 6 Grass carp and Arthur the Koi at 25lb.

The large commons continued coming the following week with Marks group with a 47lb 12 and a 55lb 10 - a PB for Jason. There were 34 fish caught throughout the week with 13 over 40lb. You can see all the catch reports on https://redmillcarpfrance.com/catch-reports/

Well here we go. Back to something normal and a chance to post something about fishing. I must say that 2 years with no stress has not been a bad thing. The carp seem to have grown well and are very healthy. I think this is becoming obvious at a lot of venues.
We welcomed Barrie and the guys ( minus Titie☹️ ) back last week and for once 'Jonah' got lucky.
