❓ Where are you going in 2024 & who with?
💬 As usual, when the winter madness is finished I go on a little “tour of Western Europe”, to see family and friends. Italy, Scotland, South of France, Greece, those small trips reconnect me with my loved ones, which for me is best way to reset.

In September I will go to the island of La Réunion (the French neighbour of Mauritius) with my parents and my partner. I cannot wait for this trip, as it has been years since I have been on a proper holiday with my parents.

Before the start of the winter season, we’ll try to get one last trip under our belt for 2024 and head to Norway with some friends, visiting Fjords and chasing aurora borealis.

❓ Best destination you have ever been?
💬 That is difficult, and I cannot name just one—Laos in South-East Asia, Guatemala in Central America, Italy and Iceland in Europe. I am drawn to beautiful landscapes and adventurous types of holidays but I always fall in love with the people I meet along the way. Ultimately this is why I remember those places.

❓ Best travel/hotel hack?
💬 Roll your clothing when packing, it will save you space in your suitcase, for the souvenirs. Also, make sure to speak to local people to find some hidden gems.

❓Your favourite TV show you've binged recently?
💬 Anything by David Attenborough. Lately, Secrets of the Whales produced by James Cameron.

Why it is worth a visit? Amsterdam is all about mooching art galleries and museums, trendy cafés selling artisanal produce and cycling the pretty canals.

Insider tips: It is well worth investing in a Museum Pass (€75, museum.nl) if you plan to visit more than one or two museums. For something a little different, the Keukenhof Gardens are just 40 minutes away - a beautiful sight in the Spring and Autumn.

Where to stay? We love Pulitzer for its wonderful mix of traditional Dutch and cool contemporary, and it's within walking distance to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum.

1&2. Clare visited Mauritius and spent a week catching up with our hoteliers and taking on some new properties which we think you’ll love - watch this space!

3. Jo attended 'We are Africa' in Cape Town networking with our amazing camps, lodges, and hotels and meeting new ones too.

4. Gemma spent a few days in Crete visiting some of our existing properties and exploring new ones. The island of Spinalonga in the picture should be on your list when visiting Crete - an island steeped in history.

5. Holly snuck off to Mallorca for a short family break at the brilliant "It was the perfect reset, I wish it could have been for longer!"

6. Philippa took a scenic helicopter ride to Bengurra island off the coast of Mozambique

7. Clare had a girls’ weekend in the beautiful Tuscan town of Lucca, and is now tasked with planning the next one (and keeping it a surprise until May 2025!)

8. Philippa went on a sailing trip with her family around the Greek islands for May half-term

We asked Clare to share her top 5 things to do in Mauritius.

1. Spend the day at Black River Gorges National Park.
You will see many endangered species of plants and animals and have a breathtaking view of Alexandra waterfalls. It has over 50km of hiking trails perfect for a hardcore climb to the highest peak or a gentle ramble through the forest.

2. Take a sunset catamaran trip around the island for a serene and picturesque experience.

3. Horse ride along the beach - even great fun in the rain.

4. The seven Coloured Earths are a geological formation and prominent tourist attraction found in the Chamarel plain of the Rivière Noire District in south-western Mauritius.

5. Take a day trip to a small private island, Ile de Deux Cocos, in the Blue Bay Marine Park. Known for its pristine beaches, lush vegetation and amazing marine life perfect for snorkeling or diving.

6. Try your hand at kite surfing.

F&P DISCOVERS PANAMÁ CITY

Oh Panamá old town, what a colourful, delicious, vibrant and unexpected gem of city you are 🌺

Costa Rica is the main focus of our Central America discovery trip, with so many of our guests having it on their ‘next holiday’ list. Rightly so, it’s a sensational destination leading in eco and adventure tourism with breath taking landscapes and almost unparalleled biodiversity.

Given that we were coming all this way, we thought it only sensible to tack on a few nights in Panama. A place we’ve been intrigued by for some time now as Costa Rica’s quietly popular and diverse neighbour. And, what a great idea that was! This emerging and diverse country, has completely stolen our hearts and intrigue, and we’re only on day two.

We believe it will be firmly on your ‘next holiday’ list very soon. With a path less trodden and so much here, from buzzing towns and a collision of cultures to the wilds of the mountains, the rich marine reserves and the 1000 archipelago islands. Who knew?!

Jo and Philippa have just returned from South Africa, where they stayed at Coot Club, on the banks of the Klein River Lagoon, on the edge of Walker Bay.

❓ Where are you going in 2024 & who with?
I have already been all over the place visiting some brilliant hotels and villas in Tuscany and some Cretan hotels near Elounda in Crete. Holly and I have just touched down in Costa Rica, to create some great itineraries for F&P adventurous travellers. As a family, we always ski in Zermatt and spend some time in South West France in the summer. I am looking forward to returning to FeelViana in Portugal with friends in August.

❓ Best destination you have ever been?
It’s toughie.. we went to the very Northern point of Brazil last October and spent two weeks in the sand dunes. That was amazing. I am very much at home in Biarritz and enjoy a city break - Florence has to be my favourite.

❓ Best travel/hotel hack?
Don’t stop travelling when you have kids.. take them exploring but always ask for a quiet room if you can - it is nice to have them tucked up in bed and a cocktail in hand!

❓Your favourite TV show you've binged recently?
I am currently going between Race Across the World and Grey’s Anatomy!

F&P DISCOVERS PANAMÁ CITY Oh Panamá old town, what a colourful, delicious, vibrant and unexpected gem of city you are 🌺 Costa Rica is the main focus of our Central America discovery trip, with so many of our guests having it on their ‘next holiday’ list. Rightly so, it’s a sensational destination leading in eco and adventure tourism with breath taking landscapes and almost unparalleled biodiversity. Given that we were coming all this way, we thought it only sensible to tack on a few nights in Panama. A place we’ve been intrigued by for some time now as Costa Rica’s quietly popular and diverse neighbour. And, what a great idea that was! Here is what they thought: ✨ The atmosphere in resort is buzzing, with loads going on for all ages. ✨ Being a high resort the season runs much longer - the skiing was still fantastic late April. ✨ It is a really practical and easy to walk around the town, meaning you don't have to rely heavily on a driver's service. ✨ The Board Sports Centre in the town is a fantastic facility and has an incredible fun park for kids. ✨ All our hotels here have amazing ski-in, ski-out locations, making slope access super easy. ✨ We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Le Fitz Roy - Val Thorens. It has perfect piste side positioning and is potentially the best-located hotel in Val Thornes with access to it all. ✨ For families the Altapura is the F&P go-to with an excellent Kids' Club and facilities. ✨ Staying here gives you access to the whole of the vast Three Valleys ski terrain and it is the most affordable resort to stay in.
