Just 15 minutes away by car is a very notable place - Alise Sainte Reine aka Alesia, the site of the last stand of the Gauls against Caesar.

A visit to this hilltop village is a must for its most amazing views over the rolling landscape of the Pays de l'Auxois but more importantly it's also home to our favourite pottery.

The joy of Sundays in France. A 'vide grenier' trip to Saulieu, the home of the 2 michelin star Le Relais Bernard L'Oiseau and spa and .

A beautiful 45 minute drive from the house.
