Summer 24 is drawing to a close and it’s been the best year yet at Villa Duroux. We discovered many new places around the Dordogne and visited some old favourites too. This weekend we took a short ride to St Emilion, arguably the best red wine in the world. The town didn’t disappoint and the only casualty was the wallet. Take a look at the photos and just let us know if you want to add this vibrant town to your holiday itinerary for 2025. We will be opening our books for new reservations in December but until then, those of you who are already our valued customers can send us a message to secure your dates. It’s been another Brindle party at Villa Duroux.Ten crazy days of the best food, wine, experiences and company. The weather has hit the mid thirties which made the pool and the beer so refreshing. Thanks again for being such great guests.

Wine tasting with a difference at Chateau de Fayolle. Our guests Diane and Andy enjoyed an afternoon of 7 wines and a very informative presentation from the American owner. We rolled home with a couple of cases of nicely balanced and not too pricey Rose or Summer Water as it’s now been renamed.

As the sun sets on another incredible year at our holiday haven in the beautiful South of France, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.

Fantastic end of season day out and visit to Château Milandes. This was the home of the wonderful Josephine Baker, exotic dancer, wartime heroine of the resistance, visionary of the tourist industry and above all a Mother to 12 children. Seriously one of the most impressive human beings to have graced the planet. Highly recommended for a visit and have your faith in humankind restored . What a Lady!!!!.
As a bonus, the Chateau provides a free daily exhibition of birds of prey.

It’s September and the end of the 2023 season at Villa Duroux. It’s been such a great season with so much going on. Marathons, triathlons, great bike rides through the countryside including the Tour de France, hot weather, azure blue pool and so much great food.
From terrace bbqs to fine dining experiences it’s been an all round great summer.
Of course, all this has been made even better and richer by our guests. Without you guys it just wouldn’t be the same. Thanks for sharing the Villa Duroux 2023 experience. Thanks to Paul Green, Villa Duroux now has 2 new paintings to decorate the walls. The front door is our business logo and it’s been really well captured. It’s great to have guests who appreciate the place and we have been blessed this year to have so many of you.

Villa Duroux has not posted for a while because we are just having too much fun. July has brought many adventures from a day at the Tour de France, trips to the vineyards, 3 editions of the Montagrillades night music and festivities, the Montagrier village fête,several rounds of golf and 3 riverside canoe outings. We need a night in and a good rest:
Its also the start of the harvesting period for us and so we are inundated with courgettes,tomatoes,cucumbers,cornichons, plums, apples and now mirabelles. So last night we put them to good use alongside bbq wild boar also of local origin.

Fun in the sun . Thursday was a full on riverside adventure for the Brindle family and the Kazantsevs. 14 of us took to the water with kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards on the River Dronne for a 5 km splash about between Creyssac and Lisle. There were some sore arms by the end and some big appetites, so we finished off the day with well earned pizza at Escapade Gourmande in Riberac.
