🤩Descubre el barrio de Candolle y su encantadora placita.

🔎Aquí podrás contemplar «El paraíso perdido» del escultor de Arlés Jacques-Augustin Dieudonné (1785-1873), que representa a Adán y Eva abrazándose amorosamente tras su exclusión del paraíso.

🥰Presentada en la Exposición Universal de Viena en 1873, la escultura adornaba desde 1879 la plaza noreste del paseo superior del Peyrou de Montpellier. Fue trasladada a la plaza Candolle en 1956.

🤩PLACE CHABANEAU

🔹La plaza Chabaneau, en el corazón del escudo de la ciudad, alberga la fuente de la Intendencia. Su imponente aspecto se debe a la calidad de su composición y a la delicadeza de su ejecución, obra del escultor de Vauban Jean-Louis Journet.
La historia de su creación está ligada a la conquista del agua de Saint-Clément por los habitantes de Montpellier y al deseo de los cónsules de magnificar este nuevo dominio con un importante programa decorativo.

🔸Right in the heart of the city, the Place Chabaneau is home to the Intendance fountain. Its imposing appearance is due to the quality of its composition and the finesse of its ex*****on by the Vauban sculptor Jean-Louis Journet.
The history of its creation can be traced back to the conquest of Saint-Clément water by the people of Montpellier and the consuls' desire to magnify this new domination with a major decorative programme.

‼️In the capital of Languedoc-Roussillon, a "hôtel particulier" was originally a medieval hostal, a bourgeois house built in the 12th century by the fortunes of Mediterranean traders. The nobility of the robe settled here in the 17th century.
These buildings and their interior courtyards are a blend of architectural styles, each owner having built his residence as he wished.

🥳🧙‍♀️🧚‍♂️El Carnaval occitano revive la alegre tradición del Carnaval en Montpellier, el domingo 23 de marzo, a partir de las 14:00 h, en el Paseo Real del Peyrou.

🧙‍♂️🧝‍♂️🧜‍♀️The Occitan Carnival revives the joyous tradition of Carnival in Montpellier, on Sunday 23 March, from 2pm, on the Promenade Royale du Peyrou.

📣2.30pm: Carnival stage
📣3pm: Start of the grand carnival procession from the Peyrou - Rue Foch - Rue de la Loge
📣4pm: Presentation of the keys to the city in front of the Opera House with the choir and return to Rue de la Loge, Rue Foch and the Promenade du Peyrou for the Judgement of Caramentran, performed by Calandreta students at 5pm.
