Snow level check complete! Went up the wrong lift, but got the Pleney more or less to myself!

Meet your host!
If you’re booking the River Pad, want help with your stay in Morzine and advice on the surrounding area, it’s me you’ll get. No managing agent who has another 40 apartments to look after, no owner who doesn’t come to Morzine, me. Year round, mountain loving, French speaking happy to host you me 🙂
I fell in love with Morzine after signing up to do an étape du tour a few years ago, so I bought the River Pad as a way to get my toe in! I sold up in La Plagne, and came here to live. It’s now my part-time home when I am not off working somewhere, and I am happy to share my space with guests.
If you come to stay I’m delighted to help you work out how to plan activities, where the top local spots are for hot chocolate and views, where to go for the best food in town, and anything at all to do with your trip really. I’m a roadie, a skier, a foodie, a cafe frequenter, a sometimes solo adventurer, a city visitor, and a polar dipper!
Drop me a DM, let’s chat your mountain adventure ⛷️🏔️🚴🧘♀️🏊♀️

As well as being your adventure base camp, the River Pad is my year-round bolt hole. It has my own kind of eclectic boho mix going on, and more than four forks! When you’re done enjoying your time out on the hill, I want you to feel comfortable when you are in.
Check the link in the bio for availability up to 3 months away, or drop me a DM for more dates.

In need of an escape from the ski crowds? If you’re heading out in early December or in January, there’s a good chance you’ll get plenty of peace on the pistes. If you do need to travel in the school holidays, there’s plenty of ways to escape the crowds. One of which is heading out for a snow shoe hike with our friends at - even better if you choose a walk with a fondue picnic. Yum!

Stroll down the hill into town for the free buses or to walk to the Pleney, then leave the party behind when it’s time for some shut eye. The River Pad is super central, in the oldest and (we think) prettiest part of town.

Winter might well be un-folding in Morzine, but back where French life began in Annecy, we’re all still swimming and enjoying the sunshine!

🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Who doesn’t love sharing something great with other people?
Over the years of being a host it’s been finding out what draws people here, learning more about this beautiful area through fresh eyes, and hearing what has worked and what needs changing with the apartment that has been the most rewarding part of the experience. It all serves as a reminder of why I started this journey and keeps me motivated to keep making little improvements.
Cela me motive!

🇬🇧 🇺🇸 who else wants to place an order? Weekend rides cutting a little differently around here!

We first fell in love with Morzine in 2016 when we camped there before taking part in the Etape du Tour. That year the stage for amateurs started in Megeve and finished in Morzine. After waking up and looking out over the stunning mountain view from Essert Romand we were hooked.
The River Pad, a small studio close to the centre of Morzine is our base there. It’s a 3 minute walk down hill to Rue du Bourg, and even less to the lovely Hideout Hostel which has a lovely bar and does great food.
Morzine offers a great base for cycling and walking in the summer, and has a huge following of keen mountain bikers. The town comes alive during the summer season, when events such as the annual Spartan race and Harley-Davidsons ‘Harley Days’ bring people back year after year. Annecy, Lake Geneva, and Chamonix are all within easy reach giving plenty of options for day trips - although we would fully recommend staying more local and taking advantage of everything that the area has to offer.
In the winter the Portes du Soleil ski area gives you a huge ski area with everything from nice easy beginner slopes to help you build your confidence to the famous ‘Swiss Wall’ and off-piste areas.
We think you’ll like it, but don’t just take our word for it - check out our reviews on AirBnB.
