We had been viewing all kinds of properties for many year and never finding the right one for us in the right location. After a weeks holiday in France in 2015 we returned unsuccessful again. However a week later scrolling through the internet we saw this and this is where our story begins. Its took a whole year to purchase because of the french families extended family and inheritance, but we fin

ally go the keys and this is where our adventures begin to make this our retirement dream. The first job for us was to lower the beams to make more use of the upstairs space, a year on thats nearly finished. We knocked walls, bathroom & staircase down. The only reason we stopped was because the planning permission came through and the roof was started this April. We have had a very successful first year, beams lowered, roof going on, door ways through both downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs flooring base will be going down this week. Update 2018 - The Gite is completed just a little more varnishing to do, so we are able to move out from the camper van and have our first Boxing Day and New Year in the Gite by the open fireplace. Update 2019 - Farmhouse work is coming along nicely. The rooms have all been divided of upstairs. Plasterers have completed the ceiling and walls in the hallway and the two bedrooms. Downstairs floor has been tiled with a cream tile and looks great.

2019 Christmas - We spent another Boxing day and New Year pointing all the downstairs area around the windows and doors then sealing them. Upstairs we cleaned up from the plaster work that had been done and began pointed two very large feature walls. We also pointed around all the windows and again sealed them. We put two new door frames ready for when the plasterers come back again in the New Year for the next stage of work. The Barn door is now complete and has had its first coat of varnish. We have had the farmhouse wood burner going and that is working well. So all in all we are getting there and it's coming together perfectly. Pop back again to see our updates in 2020. What a lovely review.
However, we will always get a 2 * or less for where our Gite is located. Our guests are always able to view the location on our listing on Airbnb, and still go ahead and book.
It has never been a problem with us because the building and grounds are so beautiful.

Found these all over the lawn at the farmhouse, lovely to see. We are finding lots of new things appearing in the garden this year which is wonderful.

Unexpected visit to a Brocante on way to Beau Rivage and the Guerledan Lac for a swift half, before returning back to the farmhouse for another, as you do after a hard day in the garden 👨‍🌾😀🍺🍷 xx

After many years of renovating the farmhouse and gite, this year was the year to improve the gardens. So gravel was put down in the courtyard and part of the back of the farmhouse. Shutters were made and fitted. Then we went to work on starting to bring more colour into the gardens, trimming the trees and generally trying to make small improvements on every visit. We are happy with what we have done. It will never be finished as there is always something to add to improve the grounds, but it’s starting to look good 🏡💐 xx

Nous avons pu visiter la Bretagne centrale, cette localisation permet de voir beaucoup de lieux intéressants aux alentours. La qualité, le confort et le goût anglais du gîte couronnent le tout

We were able to visit central Brittany, this location allows us to see many interesting places nearby. The quality, comfort and English taste of the gîte top it all off.

How beautiful is this Buddleja Davidii White Profusion Butterfly Bush, already attracting some beautiful bees and butterfly’s to the garden. We maybe on the edge of a village but the wildlife we have in our garden is so perfect. We can see the cows 🐮across the fields, we have a hare 🐰that visits the garden in the evenings, and a donkey 🫏 we can hear across the fields. We have a few lizards 🦎that pop out to say hi during the day and enjoy the sun, and we have a beautiful selection of birds which is just fascinating to watch while having a cuppa 🥐☕️ We did think about getting a bird book to work out what birds we had in the garden, but decided to watch and enjoy them instead 😂🍷🌞🌦️ 🏡###

Last weekend we went to our favourite place Josselin as the market was on, then onto Les Forge for lunch. After lunch we went to the large Broncante which we love walking around but never buy anything 😂 Then onto Quintin where we found a gastro show going on in the centre which was lovely walking around, we even had the red carpet for us 😂

We have been having a change around in gite. So we now offer three further options when you stay with us. 1. Desk Work Space. 2. A Double Sofa Bed in lounge. 3. 2 x Adult Bikes for use if required.
