🥞✨ Happy Chandeleur! 🥞✨

On February 2nd 🗓️, we celebrate Candlemas—a day that marks the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple 🏛️ in Jerusalem. It's also the moment when the days begin to grow longer, bringing back the light ☀️ and the return of farmers to the fields 🌾.

The name "Chandeleur" comes from the Latin word candela, meaning "candle" 🕯️. In ancient Roman times, people honored the god Pan, walking the streets with torches 🌟 and lighting candles 🕯️ in their homes to ensure a bountiful harvest.

🥞 But why pancakes?
The round shape and golden hue of pancakes 🥞 represent the sun ☀️ returning after winter. Plus, using leftover flour from the previous year symbolizes prosperity for the year ahead 🌟.

Recipe to celebrate! 🎉

400g flour 🌾
5 eggs 🥚
50g melted butter 🧈
1 litre milk 🥛
2 tbsp sugar 🍬
1 sachet vanilla sugar 🍮

Instructions:
1️⃣ Mix flour, eggs, and milk in a bowl.
2️⃣ Gradually add flour to avoid lumps.
3️⃣ Add melted butter and sugars, stirring until smooth.
4️⃣ Let the batter rest, then pour into a hot pan.
5️⃣ Once golden on one side, flip and cook the other side. Voilà! 🤩🥞

Menton will celebrate its annual event, one of the most famous festivals in the region.

During this period, the streets of Menton will be immersed in an explosion of colors 🎨🌈 and flavors, offering a grandiose spectacle animated by talented musicians 🎷🎺🎸🎻 and street artists 👩🏽‍🎨.

☀️🏝️With its marina, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is a peninsula known all over the world for its scenery.

🕥To discover the secret corners of Cap Ferrat, we will meet at 11:30am at the bus stop "Lycée Masséna" to take the bus N°15 ; FREE with the Ligne azure card, otherwise it's 1€70

🌆ESN Nice organizes a free walking tour🧭🗺️🆓for new students👨🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼 where the guides show their favorite part of the city 🏘️and its history.

🕞Join us at 2:00pm 📍in front of the fountain Place Masséna February, Saturday 8th.🗓️

🗺️Our volunteers will guide you through the city center🌆 and introduce you to the fairytale-like city of Nice.

🆓The tour is FREE🆓 and organized by volunteers who are motivated to share their knowledge and love for this city.🌆

😁This is also a good occasion to meet other newly arrived international students.👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏽👨🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼
Enjoy and discover the cool and interesting parts of Nice from a student's perspective.
